I'll try to make it, but probably not that early :)  I'll be paddling a yellow Elie...

Great day to fish the mouth. Quite a few kayak anglers familiar to NWKA on the water and great to meet them. Fish were on the bite after the high and taking presentations from bug wanders and trollers alike - majority on cast or jig though. Bonus was a black rockfish who was returned to the bay.

Had a nice day on the water, met some folks, got lots of exercise.  No fish though :(  next time I will definitely bring my anchor (skipped it today for some dumb reason...).  I ended up trolling thru the swarms of PBs and yaks, not so much as a nibble.

Oh well, still a good day.

We had a good time.  Got out there a little later than we wanted.  We managed to get three.  Had some others on that jumped and spit the hook.  Good time and great getting to meet you out there.  I hope to hit it sometime during the week.  We kind of got crowded out of the spot and then just called it a day.

I got some video that I will post up of my son getting one.  He had not caught anything bigger than a trout for a long time!

Thanks to all for the tips and info on this location.  My only complaint is where are the bathrooms at  Thea's park?

Yeah no bathrooms down there are a pain but there are so many bums down there that they would ruin it. I have named that area "The Puke Pocket"  ;D  because it is so close the Puyallup and it produces!!! I picked up two more there last Thursday and will head back down again this week. Great place to take a yak and fish. I am glad you guys were able to put the good info to use!

I'm thinking of heading up there this weekend for my first try at pinks - assuming you guys haven't picked the place clean already ;)

Anyone interested in hooking up on Fri evening or Sat morning? I'll be out in a big yellow Trident and may have my son in a small red Tarpon.

I might try and get out there on Sunday.  Depends on the weather.  I tend to hate waving a fiberglass rod around in lightning storms while sitting on the water.  :)  Good luck and post up your results!

I may give it a shot Sunday too, if weather cooperates.  Can't do Saturday.  I have a brand-new kayak-hauler to try out...

Sweet.  Does it match the color of your kayak?  Congrats on the new ride.

Yes it does  ;D  Last yellow one in the western US, it's a 2015 and the idjits at GM discontinued the color for the 2016 model.  Ended up getting it shipped in from a dealership in MT...

Still getting used to it, it's about twice the size of my little Civic.   :o

I went from a Civic to a full size (but I grew up driving work trucks and HMMWVs - hummers).  Once you make that switch, it's hard to go back to a small car unless you have a long daily commute.

I used to drive an S-10 (small) Blazer, before that an S-10 PU...  I switched to small cars when I ended up with a 56 mile (each way) drive to school and later work, back in Nebraska.  Now it's < 12 miles :)

A bit too sporty for me today.  Might go out tomorrow.

Well I never saw any reports from last weekend.  I suspect the weather got just a bit to sporty for everyone else as well.

This weekend looks quite a bit nicer, so I will be headed out either Sunday or Monday, (or Sunday and Monday!).  It may be that all the Pinks are up the river already but my hope is that there are a few around, and maybe even a lucky coho.  The weather has me thinking about duck hunting so I can see the end of my fishing season.  Just a couple more weeks and it will be time to transition.

Anyone else headed out this weekend?
