Love you to bro. It is nice to still be in shorts and no shoes. Water Temps are 75 degrees or so. Still haven't had much time to do some hard fishing. Retirement sucks. I'm busier now than when I was in military.

Dino, since the Slayride is in Hoodsport you may want to update this line from your announcement above:

- ALL FISHING MUST BE DONE FROM BROWN’S POINT TO POVERTY BAY

<grin>

Good Catch, thanks...just noticed on the poster I left 2014 on the info. I'll have to fix that tonight.

From: http://www.peninsuladailynews.com/article/20151016/NEWS/310169989

Chum are likely to start turning up in bigger numbers in the creel reports.

“Worth noting is the fact anglers are suddenly reporting huge numbers of chum migrating just out of reach of the casters,” Norden said.

“I am [expecting] one of the largest chum rums in decades to enter Hood Canal this fall, given the size of the unique chum run that came into Quilcene Bay this summer.

“Also, the chum will be much larger than usual, as the beach casters are already commenting, in frustration no doubt, that those jumping chums this week are 'slabs'”.

I haven't seen anything in the creel reports that indicates such.  am i missing something here? looking at the wrong reports, perhaps?

i hope he's wrong, but mark yuasa seems to have the opposite take: http://www.seattletimes.com/life/outdoors/chinook-coho-remain-best-options-as-weather-shifts/
"Chum salmon, which usually start to arrive between now and December, have been virtually a no-show in most parts of Puget Sound. “We haven’t seen any chum, and normally by now were catching some and you’ll see them rolling and jumping out of the water,” Krein said. “Hopefully they’re just late getting here.”

Not sure about Hoodsport, but I heard from a very reliable source that Oakland Bay is stacked bank to bank right now.

I sat down at Hoodsport hatchery and watched them jumping.   Lots of them.  Just out of reach of the waders.   I'm going to drop the yak in after work tomorrow.

Hey guys I'm a newbie when it comes to anything on the West side of WA. I moved to the tricities 2 years ago and kayak fish here, and was thinking about coming down that direction for the derby. If possibly I could have someone message me, I could really use some info on that area before I head out that direction. Thanks

Search for slay ride 2014.  It is full of information.  If you have any questions after that, just post here.  It may answer someone else's question

Lots of good info in the 2014 post, but feel free to hit me up if it's something specific.

..,..go to page 5 and watch the video at post 74. Well worth the time and it will really help you get excited about this fishery. Dem some ugly bad-ass fish.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
