Haven't seen any takers so I'm bailing on Tuesday. Maybe Friday or next week.
Friday would be better for me...

Maybe its better that we don't pressure them so they will bite better on Sunday for the Sleigh Ride Social...  [emoji6]

That has to be the best line of reasoning to avoid going out in the cold PNW rain.

"Don't want to pressure the fish."

You funny!

I figured that was better then saying I'm a sissy from the desert and don't like being out in the rain...  [emoji12]

With all that room you have in your drysuit, you could install a wood stove in there to keep warm.   :laughing7:

Even better, being you have red drysuit it wouldn't take much to finish it out with the full Santa look from Goodwill/Walmart.  You would totally blend in with the "Portland Weird" and just get thumbs up from everyone that sees you.  Maybe even mount a small decorated tree in one of your rod holders, and put an inflatable Rudolph out on the front deck of your Outback.   :icon_santa:  :icon_rendeer:

Ok, I have watched the cool videos here am super impressed. I am going to the Dec. 6 sleigh ride to try my hand but I don't know how to rig the system; I have a Tiger Stik paired to an Abu 6601 with 50# PowerPro. I bought some of the ginormous hooks that come with their own clothesline, got the pyramid sinkers and some burly swivels. But how to join them together, I just don't know. If you can send/post picks that would be great!
(Aytch--I lost my phone and the messages you sent with your rigging).

This is pretty close to how I've done it in the past...

Basically, the sliding rig on your mainline, attached to a swivel.  The sturgeon leader/hook tied to the swivel.  Your weight hanging from the slider.

I use a tri swivel with mainline and weight in line then the bait off the third arm. Weight and hook leader length depends on where I am. Both work very well whatever your comfortable/confident in.

I like this method, you can let more line out as they are nibbling.

I like the way the bait sits the other way but you are absolutely correct. On a slow bite day I switch to the slider set up for that reason.

Lost my (sturgeon) virginity @ the Sleigh Ride with Tyler and crew on the 6th. Also took a spill off my Jackson Cuda. Paddling that with the outriggers really exhausted me and then I had to battle 4 sturgeon, man what an exciting but demanding/exhausting day! Saw all the other guys in Hobies with Mirage drives just tooling around with ease and decided to get into an Outback. Went out this past Sunday with Tyler and tied into 8!! Still exhausting but the "pedal" back was more fun than paddling after battling the beasties all day. Thanks for the tips on rigging!!
