Butter knife handle.is the lure tape OK?

Knife handles and tape have been used for years.  I use that exact setup all the time with Goodwill knife handles and they are very successful.  Yours would definitely catch fish.

Might want to change things up a bit and think outside of the box here.

Heck no, it's an awesome lure and keep it as it will work.  Like I said I have made dozens of them, as have many others over the years. 
They just freaking work.   We'll let the judges decide if it fits the bill.

I know.what kind of a challenge would it be without a little shit flipping. I will do better at junkin it up.

Still working on it but hers my oversized blade bait 2½oz.

Negative on the lure tape  too "traditional" but DOT truck tape on the other hand is just fine.

So, I'm not on a team just yet. But here is my jig.......we'll call it "EasterSurprise". plastic egg filled w/ stainless nuts from a bathroom remodel (to add some weight), homemade blades from a monster can, rubber bands and bungee end cap, with pen cap to hold the blades in place.

Had to make me a junk lure to target suspended rockfish with. 

24 soda can tabs (all found with my metal detector) arranged as a chain, a dead set of Samsung ear buds interlacing the can tabs for structure, couple ozs of pencil lead wrapped on the head for stearing, and my las 10/0 octopus hook tethered to the split ring at the front and secured along the side with heat shrink tubing.
