Has there been a prize announced?  Maybe I missed it. By this time last year we were all drooling over that sweet Raymarine Dragonfly that LingLing took home, the lucky &$:!8&!.   ::)

I think just the bridge to vehicle traffic is closed, so you can probably still fish near Sellwood.  I believe the launch is at the park near the bridge.  Never launched there before, but do a search on NWKA with "sellwood" and you're likely to find the launch codes.  I'm probably not going to fish on Friday, but will be on the water Saturday trying my best to catch one.  Good Luck.

The two rod endorsement is going to add an interesting dynamic to the derby this year.

Yup! Twice the chance to not catch one if you are me.  But seriously, I trolled two for awhile on Saturday and then I put one away.  It would be awesome on the Columbia with the sandy bottom, but the Willamette is pretty snaggy in the area I was fishing.

I think the Portland harbor down to head of the Channel would be a great place to run 2 rods fishing 2 depths for suspended fish in deeper water

Nothing announced- you didnt miss it!

AT Paddles is a headliner for sponsor this year- I will get together a prize list in the next day or 2 so you all have an idea what your fishing for.  Once again the event is very low key and meant to simply be a fun- cheap way to support HOW and hang out with others in the community

Unlike every other event I've done, apparently NA isn't accepting emailed/faxed/scanned copies of their waivers, according to CJ and the event's website.

I, and a few others, are driving down from Seattle to participate in this event. We decided yesterday that we're definitely in. I heard from CJ on FB that only physical copies would be accepted, but I'm a little wary of them actually receiving them in time if I mail them today.

Looking at the event's website, it states that waivers will be accepted the day of the event. I just called NA and asked them if I could bring the waivers in at weigh-in (since we won't have time beforehand to drop them by). He (someone in the paddlesports center - i don't remember his name) said he wasn't sure if that would be accepted, but that not doing so would mean we wouldn't be raffle entrants - a big bummer.

His alternate suggestion was - get this - emailing me waivers that I could e-sign and email back. I stated that CJ - and the website - stated that no emailed copies would be accepted, but he said that was fine.

So....wtf? Get your ducks in a row, NA. This ain't rocket science. You've got folks eager to dish out cash, make a 3hr+ drive down to participate in your event. Just make it easy for us to do so.

I was told by our Programs Department that only physical waivers could be accepted and that this is the case with every event/ class.  We did it the exact same way for the 2015 Chinook Showdown and for ORC last year.  Unfortunately we simply can not accept copies of the document.  I apologize that somebody via phone told you you could email back- I will ensure the staff knows that this is never the case.

You are welcome to slip your waiver under the door before you fish on Saturday morning if you dont believe it will make it in time however this is why we put registration up early and have a late registration fee- to try and encourage everybody to get their stuff in before last minute.  Our ducks are in a row and we require the same process for every event- waivers before the activity begins is an absolute must have.
