It's all going to be a surprise  ;D

The biggest question is: who's going to catch the one fish currently in the Willy?

28 as of today.  Prizes are assorted from AT paddles, NRS, and Next Adventure.  Assorted PFDs shoes paddles etc.

No captains bags were planned but we will see what we can do :)

Thanks for putting on the Chinook Showdown 2016!  The captain's bag from 2015 was probably the best part of the take - really enjoyed that small token of sponsorship bling.  The NA shotglass, the dragon drybag...that was excellent.  Sure looking forward to the camaraderie and buying some stuff at the store during the weigh in.  Thanks again Next Adventure!

To tell you the truth, the most useful garb I've gotten from a tournament yet was those inflatable butt-rests that we got last year. They've held up on a full day 10 mile paddle trip in the ocean & my ass genuinely thanks you.

Yes! The butt pad is awesome!  Not only in the yak,but on the picnic bench out camping.
OK.....the shot glass has been useful too  ;D

Hope you all are having a better day out there than I did. Snapped my lamiglas rod in half for no apparent reason, must have been stress cracked or something. Unfortunately it was the only rod/reel I brought so it ended my day early.

Will see you all at the weigh in!

Pretty slow catching for most of the competitors.  Four people weighed in salmon (I think... I lost count).  Rawkfish weighed in TWO salmon but won't give up his secret spot of where he found willing biters. "in the river"

Thank you to Next Adventure and everyone that fished the Showdown. It was a tough day on a tough year, but a smattering of fish were extricated from the Willy's murky depths.

Congratulations to Redbeard's kinfolk Tony who bested pro jock Rawkfish by an ounce for the big fish win. Rawkfish was the only competitor to limit out, and our good buddy Spot took 3rd.

Thanks to Bryan, Deek, CJ and the rest of the Next Adventure staff for all the continued support. Thanks to NRS and AT Paddles for the goodies.

We are so fortunate and grateful to have a strong and generous community. HOW now has some 54 chapters across the country, and they all aren't as lucky as we are. Not only is it more meaningful when you are supported by friends and peers, but we also very much appreciate the fact that we don't have to spend an inordinate amount of time and energy jumping through hoops and knocking on doors. That is time and energy we can direct back into the program to make events bigger and better for the population we serve. And personally, I would much rather spend a glorious day on the water with all of you wonderful folks than be sitting in a Wal-Mart or Walgreens district mgrs. office explaining the importance of the HOW mission.

THANK YOU NEXT ADVENTURE!

(I stupidly forgot to load my memory card into my camera and was only able to capture a few shots of the day on the internal memory. If someone has some fish porn from the day, pretty please post it up. thanks!)

Another shout out to Rawkfish who generously donated the sweet Adventure Technology paddle he won to our HOW chapter! A little switcheroo inside the store and we exchanged the one paddle for TWO more durable paddles! Both of which will be added to inventory and used for HOW events! Muchas Gracias El Jeffe!

Congrats everyone!

And don't think they weren't mocked accordingly!  Though I was very disappointed in the rest of the group when Spot informed me that I was the first to comment how yesterday's fish looked an awful lot like Fridays fish!!

Congrats to the winners!  And thanks again to Next Adventure...
