I've been using this line cutter for the past year and want to give it a strong recommendation.  It is designed to wear on a finger while fishing but I attached it to my pfd and it makes clipping line really easy, especially tag lines when retying lures or hooks.  It will cut braid and mono equally fast, just a flick of the line down and done.  The hood covering the blade prevents nicking the skin or other items.  Much easier to use than nail clippers or scissors.

Here's a pic of it on my new Kokatat Predator PFD:

I don't have any ties to the company, just a satisfied customer.

Good to hear they work as well as they are marketed. I have had it on my Amazon "Wishlist" for a while now but have been hesitant without hearing from someone on how well they work. Will have to purchase on my next order.

I too have been thinking about getting one but I always wear gloves when on the water so I wasn't too sure how well it would go over gloves.  I never thought to attach it to my pfd or something... hmmm

Or you could go with the identical Thread Cutterz and pay $2 less...

I've been using the Boomerang line cutter for the last year and I'm really impressed.  I gave the retracting lanyard a month, tops. But, it's been a solid performer even when I forget to rinse the salt off of it.  The price is also about $12.

I kinda thought they looked gimmicky, but see they have become popular. How close can you get to cut knots off eyelets?

I'm using titanium Fiskars Snips that I have put on a T-Reign retractable that fits in the PFD pocket. Works great instead of a bait knife and awesome for opening packages and even cutting gills! You can even quickly gut your fish on the water with them. (hint-hint)  8)

These have been on my list for a while, but somehow manage to overlook/forget to buy them every gear purchase. Good to hear the lanyard is worth a damn too. I was skeptical of that aspect

Mine were $10 each, I see its up now to $12.  Shipping was the same for 1 or 2 so I got two.

I can clip a tag line ~1/8" from the knot. I don't usually trim less than than that.

I got a Boomerang a couple of years ago to see if they'd cut 6# PowerPro Super 8 Slick because nothing short of a razor blade could cut that line cleanly.  They did and still do, in spite of me occasionally hitting hook eyes and swivels.

I can cut line cleanly off a hook/lure/swivel eyes, or trim tag ends right to the knot.

I have those Fiskar's shears for yard work - but not with titanium blades.  Now that I know about them, I'm getting some for cutting gills.  Thanks!

I contacted the guy that invented the Line Cutter ring a year or two ago when they were shown on Ty Sutherlands 30 Miles Out channel.

My intent was to see if he would want to become a sponsor to our local NWKA events, but he never bothered to reply to his emails.  I figured he either didn't ever get my email if it went to his junk file, or he just blew me off.

Either way, I gave up on them and figured I'd wait until they went mainstream enough to see if they were even worth pursuing again.

I too have been using the Boomarang for about two years now.  They do eventually get worn enough that they more or less just chew through the line with multiple passes, but when they are new the are the ticket.  Gotta go pick me up a new one soon.

They had a booth at the Portland Sportsman show this year and I talked to the guy, don't know if he was the inventor but was friendly and very interested in how I was using it while kayaking.  Might be worth reaching out to them again.

Hobie is now selling the Boomerang Tool line cutters OEM. I'm very impressed with them so far.
