If my cards fall in my favor and Saturday is not tied up with some kind of "Honey Do" list, then I plan to spend some time near the dam shooting for bass and pan fish.  Then start trolling for some trout.

Anyone free Saturday for a float?

Sweet!
I launch from boat launch "A".
Sometime on Friday I should know about when I actually plan to hit the water, and I'll post it.

I've probably earned enough WAF, but I'm heading out East to visit family.  While you're fishing I'll be at a wedding in Michigan.  The following weekend I'll be visiting my folks in New York with a side trip to Vermont in during the week between.  The week we get back my wife heads off to a scientific meeting in Vancouver, BC and I'll be home alone with my son.  I probably won't hit the water again until Veteran's Day.  :(

Perfect timing!  Do you have a drift anchor?  :)

No but I'm planning on getting one as well as fabricating a anchor mount for my Caper when I get back.    Hopefully I can retrofit the mount I had on my Cobra.

BS, you know you are heading to the FALL capital of the USA?  Take your camera with you for sure.  You should be able to get in some really nice fall pictures of the changing colors out in Vermont and New York.

I'm jealous!!!

I grew up in Upstate New York and Vermont is certainly great for fall colors.  But I'm afraid I'm a tad late as the usual peak is mid-October.  Hopefully there will still be some good color left when I get there.  Fall is one of things I missed most when I lived in California, particularly when I lived in San Diego.  It's so nice to be in Portland where I can experience fall again and seasons in general.

Insayin,

Looking like I will be able to make it Saturday...

You said you launch from A, I tried that last time without much success.  I've slayed the trout up out by C near the fishing pier.  I'm down for whatever though and would like to target more than just trout.

Keep me posted

There are bass and pan fish over by the damn, and I nailed all my trout directly across from Ramp A.  It's a shorter drive to A than half way around the lake to C.

What went bad for ya on Ramp A?

I think I was fishing too deep that day. When I realized that those fishing near the top were the ones catching, it was time to go home.

Ahhh!  I see, it wasn't the launch from Ramp A that was bad, it was the fishing near Ramp A.  The cool thing about a kayak is that we can paddle them to the fish. :icon_thumleft:

Ramp logistics are merely personal at this point, right?  I'd prefer to paddle across the lake, vs. driving around it.   ;D

You're coming from Tigard, correct?  I'm in Forest Grove and can be at Ramp A in about 15 minutes from my house.  How early of a start are you thinking?  I'm good for any time.

Right, another cool thing about a kayak is that we don't need boat ramps, just a place near the water that has close parking.

Depends on how much time I have, if I only have a couple hours to fish I'll drive as close to the point I want to fish and save myself the 20 minute paddle... *shrugs*

Actually Milwaukie/Oregon City now (moved).  I'm thinking 7:30 ish.. right around sunset.

15 minutes away?  Nice!

I'd be all over not using a boat launch once I get around to building a cart.  I'm too lazy to carry my stuff and the kayak to and from the water.  Probably take a few trips.  ;D

Eh?  The lake closes at sunset.  I hope you meant sunrise?   :book1:
