Anyone up for Monday springers???  They're here..................

Where are you thinking? I can possibly do Portland metro area Monday. It's all contingent on me getting school work done on Sunday (50/50 chance)

Most likely Multnomah Channel or around Sellwood Bridge. These are the two areas I've spent the most time in.  However, I'm always ready for others to share their "secret" spots.

In reality, I'll be the only one catching anything from a "real" kayak. You kids have fun with your pool toys. Don't forget your rudders, pedals, and sails!

Purists...  ::) BTW I can't recall a single report of yours' with a salmon in hand... You got a lotta talkin' to back up JS.

Nanook...what is that from Mork and Mindy?....man you guys are old ;D you guys are to me what power boaters are to you. :o

I'm off Sundays & Mondays...if anyone ever wants to see what fishing from a "kayak" looks like.

If I can get the mid terms done by sunday, I'll be fishing down by warrior rock @ sauvie island for springers on Monday.

lol, and i could change my avatar every day of the week with a  different fish I've actually caught on a Kayak. I looked at your site , all but one of the fish are caught on a boat...

and Nanook, is Nanook of the North, he fished out of a "real" Kayak....
See ya on the water..

I think a Multnomah Springer derby (informal of course) is in order! It is way to early yet but end of March first part of April could be fun.

Sounds like a decent March event.  I'm hoping Drano Bay heats up a little better this year too, may be for a May event.

Drano used to be a decent fishery but the crowds more than the lack of fish have it scratched off my list of places to put my time in.  The only thing that circus is missing is a high wire act, as the animals and the clowns are in no short supply.  It would be a new experience to fish it from a yak, best thing is you could skip the fun at the ramp and parking.

We tried Drano last year in Mid-April and while the crowds weren't that bad, I believe the fish counter only counted 4 springers that day.  The non-boat ramp launch on the west side was nice and there was plenty of room outside the main circle for us kayaks.  I'm sure on a weekend day when the fish are in there thick it might be impossible/unsafe from a kayak.
