Not the world expert on reading conditions, but the Thursday Otter Rock/Kiwanian MSW forecast looks pretty inviting. I am thinking I need a mental health day. Anyone else think that forecast looks like a go day? 14s period could make PC landing interesting 🤔

I’m looking at Depoe Bay Thursday morning.  If fishing is good and I get done at a decent time, I may go to Yaquina Bay mid day for herring.  Surf height was a little bigger than I wanted for PC.

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

I've been trying to decide between PC and Depoe myself, starting to lean more towards Depoe....
Especially if we get a good group together.
Probably launch at sunrise, or shortly after.
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

weather forecast is pointing to temperatures in the high 20's to maybe 30 in the morning.  Going to be cold.

Yeah, and Edward  Abbey doesn't mention anything about enduring the cold. Sunburn, yeah. So I hear you.

I can't swing Thursday, but maybe Friday. Ultimately, it'll depend how cold it gets this week (and how efficient I am with my work Tues-Thur). I'm fine with freezing temperatures when fishing steelhead or whatever, but it sucks for bottomfishing. Teeth/spines and numb hands don't mix well!

Might be fishing in the snow but I'll keep an eye on it before committing.

This pains me to say, but this really isn't a good week for me to take a day off. I really really, like REALLY want to, but I just can't!

The forecast is still showing primarily a dry cold,  not a big snow event.   However, it's the coast so that might change.   There are still some snowflakes in the forecast for Netarts area for Thursday morning.

It’s looking like my fishing day might be getting bumped to Friday.  Still a slight chance for Thursday, but not likely.

If your coming over the hill, remember there are spots that don’t get any sun and will likely still be wet! Watch for ice!!

I’m thinking Depoe on Thursday as well.  Unless the surf is 2-3’ or less, I tend to get rolled in my PA14 coming in.
Planning to head down Wednesday afternoon, in order to spread out the driving, get a bit more sleep, and hopefully avoid icy roads.
Definitely bringing the warmies!

Myself plus one are planning on Fogarty beach on Thursday. But seeing that the wind should be chill all day, we are planning on a later start. Maybe 11-ish. By then, the temp should be up a little. Or the sun out at least.
