NE wind 10 to 15 kt. Wind waves 2 ft or less...becoming 3 ft. Mixed swell NW 2 to 3 ft and S 2 ft.

Chris and I are going to try to make it out to Baltimore rock on Thursday. Ocean looks pretty good. Any one else going to make it out?
Enjoy the ride!

What a day. Birthday curse in full effect!!

We launched at about 8:30 after i drove back home to get my fishing poles that were sitting in the living room. Jesse, Chris and myself decided to go north and try to get to B. Rock. started to pedaddle around the outside and i had the geat idea of shooting the gap. As we made are way through i mentioned to the guys to time the wash slot properly or it can get a little hairy. Unfortunatly Chris didn't time it right and huli'd right in the slot :o and ended clinging to the rocks as his 150 dollar knife and the crab pot he was transporting went to the bottom. There was no way he could get back on in the wash so i towed his Yak out of the slot and we were gonna meet him somewhere calmer.

after we paddled around to where we should have been able to see Chris, we couldn't find him. We got a little nervous and Jesse paddled back into the slot and found Chris still clinging to the rock, it was too slick for him to make his way up. So he held on to the back of Jesse's yak and he towed him out to deeper water and finally got him back on his yak, wet and frustrated he paddled in.
After that,

I felt kinda crappy cause it wasmy idea to shoot the gap and really had some bad juju going. Had at least 7 or 8 balcks on the jig and get off. Lost a nice, probably 30 inch Ling at the boat and the same thing on the biggest greenling i ever did see, it almost jumped in the yak and spit the hook and was gone. Only ended up boating two decent blacks. Tough day overall but that's the way it goes sometimes, just glad all were safe at the end of the day...

The crab pot was right in the wash so it's still there on a long soak. I'm gonna try to get it tomorrow if it's calmer on a different tide.
See ya on the water..

Good team work Roy!  Glad to hear it had a happy ending.

You'll make up for it tomorrow I'm sure.  8)

just Sunset Bay area. I got an older video of shooting the gap where Chris Huli'd, don't fish in there just a shortcut to the north side. And yes, i squealed like a little girl.. At about 1:45 into the video, thats the spot  where Chris huli'd. It was washing alot more today but was flatter before going into it. Just happened to time it on a good set.

See ya on the water..
