Where are we launching from?  Out of Depoe Bay harbor itself or somewhere near?

With a potential of many kayaks entering this contest, has anyone put the word out to the harbor master, coast guard or whomever is the head cheeze of that harbor?  I'd hate to see a family feud start up, or an accident happen because they didn't know there was a kayak shinding going on that day.   :-\

BTW - I have both Friday and Saturday off, and will be chatting with the wife about when our yearly Tuna Canning weekend is down in Newport.  I hope they don't fall on the same weekend.

Tuna is near,
water is warm enough out 30 miles from Brookings....just waiting for the fish to arrive in #'s.
They are catching some sport Tuna now. Most Commercial Tuna fisher's here are just now pulling the last of their crab gear for the upcoming Tuna rush.
I would think you will have that fish all jarred by then.....and the added WAF for helping can won't hurt ;)

My helping the wife and my dad can means me and my mom take the kids to the beach, or playground and stay away.
My dad gets all serious with this tuna canning.  My wife is way more relaxed so she is good for helping him.

I can't wait!  Last year was a lot of fun!

Who's brining the deep fryer?  That Panko rock fish was worth the entry fee!

Based on when I used to launch out of there with the PB it gets crazy crowded (If you plan to launch out of the harbor)  that time of year with tuna fishermen.  I will be making a scouting trip to find another launch site nearby and find me where lingzilla hangs out.

Thanks for the heads up PP. Please keep us posted and PM me the coordinates of lingzilla's lair.

Was hoping our boy Fish Sniffer could contact the harbor master and let them know about the influx of kayak fishermen that weekend.

Hmmm ... is this rockfish only as implied by the name.  I think not, but wanted to be clear ...

I'd be up for a scouting trip during the upcoming weekends. I actually go back to a M-F work schedule in 3 weeks.

Just made my reservations at Beverly Beach for 9/11 and 9/12. Got the last RV spot with electric and water. All the spots with sewer were already taken.

Looking forward to another fun day on the water! Sure hope the weather is as good as last year.

I've reserved and paid for site A01 at Beverly Beach.  I'm still not 100% sure if I can make it, but I figure someone might want to go last minute if I can't.
