after the wind got whipping, my 5 ounces only bought me about 4 or 5 bounces off the bottom before my bait was 75 yards SW of my yak. Could have used a half pounder or more on that day!

If you know you have a 20" ling on and you let it fight just off the bottom waiting for a monster to hitch hike are you using an illegal fish for bait .... even if you never saw it?

The reason for the high volume of under sized Lings is those are all males guarding nests. This time of year they guard the eggs and become very aggressive. That is why most ling closures happen in the fall and winter.
Too easy to catch

Yep, We have a natural closure at the right time here...Winter, mother natures fishing regulations.

yep, all shot on the replacement PlaySport.  The remote helped out a lot, though when the camera powers off, you still have to manually turn it back on...
