Unless you expand NWKA to include Europe and Afghanistan, I'm afraid he's pretty much limited to predicting only...

Look out Spot and PP, newbie is coming after you.  I figure I have four more months to catch up.  I figure a solid weekend out at Hagg and on the Willamette will get me close with the warmwater fish...

Quick question... I'm looking at picking up a canoe (Mad River Adventure 14 or 16) for family fishing from time to time.  Will I be able to use my fish from those outings for AOTY?  No motors, still human powered...  If you guys are OK with it then my daughter wants in the mix for the juinor's division.

I was going to ask the same the question.  I have a 15 foot Pirogue (1 adult + 1 child max) and am finishing up a cedar strip canoe and wanted to know if fish caught in them would count? Personally, I don't see much difference between my pirogue and a Native WaterCraft "kayak" I needed a bigger boat to keep the little guys in. Both are paddle craft exclusively.

SOT yak and pirogue side by side:

I have no problems with "canoes" being used in AOTY.  The difference between a canoe and a kayak is pretty superficial (type of paddle?) especially given the difference between a kayak and a Hobie w/ a mirage drive.

Sweet, we have a family canoe, too. It's a better craft for the river than my wherry.

We ended up getting a Mad River Explorer 16 TT instead of the Adventure series today.  It's the same as the one below, but in yum yum yellow!  I'm excited to now be able to include my family on some of my weekend misadventures.
