"Ewww, look a giant green worm with a big ass hook.  You think the baby ling cares, no baby ling doesn't give a shit, baby ling tries to eat the giant green worm.  Eww, gross."

By the way, the best way to release that little one would have been to send it back down to the bottom still on the jig and wait for something bigger to try and rip it off for you.

Great video, it was good meeting you guys. Had a great time paddling the "sinking barge" around the bay, thanks Rawkfish for not getting that on video. Mindy and the girls said they had a great time too, even if it was a little soggy. They ended up catching some small trout in the river and took some fun pics in the rain.

Reposting some pics at a smaller size.  Looks like all had a great time.  Next year for sure as I gain more experience.

I think everyone wants to see a pic of your new kayak and Cabzilla. I'll post Roland's hobie somewhere else.

Hey y'allz!  it was so great to hang out with everybody last weekend.  First off, a HUGE thank-you to everybody who helped organize the event.  polepole and spot especially - it just wouldn't have happened without them.  And to everybody that brought stuff like the amazing food...and also HUGE thanks to Paul and Ninkasi for the 2 kegs of one of my favorite beers!  I know I am forgetting people to thank.  Sorry!  Thank you!

I was able to pre-fish Friday, which turned out to be an great weather day.  Very little swell or wind.  Saturday was a different story - cool, rainy and blustery.  Higher degree of difficulty for kayak fishing, but everybody did very very well...especially the winner, who hauled out a monster cab his first day in the salt!  I didn't do super well on saturday.  I was concentrating on live-bait because I thought that was my best shot at a monster fish.  I had alot of action, but just couldn't get them to the boat.  Even if I had though, there was nothing at the end of my line that would have won it!  But despite the somewhat poor conditions, I got a full day in and had fun.

Here's some shots I got from the event, and also a short vid I put together.  And yes, got some shots of the winner and his fish!

Bluewrx02's cabezon was 19lbs-3oz.   The biggest damn cabby I've ever seen!
He even got a decent sized ling on his first trip on the salt.

My fish.

On the water pics.

Gotta say this was my best day ever on the water.  Ron sold me on the Scopace pills, and that did the trick.
Notta single urge to hurl, no queasy and no drowziness.  I could have spent all day out there if my legs and
other body parts didn't get burned out first.  Looking forward to next year already!
