Guys I don't have a Hawg Trough so what do I use to measure my fish, If I catch any that is. :banjo:

Tape a measuring tape or stick to the bottom of your footwell with clear packing tape.  Goes down quick and comes up easy.

Anybody planning on traveling to the extents of the event boundary, check your distance from Next Adventure on Google Earth 1st.  I had a place in mind that I was sure was in the radius but turned out to be just over the allowed 50miles.

Here's a map of the fishable area around the Next Adventure Paddle Sports Center.

If anyone really wants to look at this in more detail, send me a PM and I'll send you the KML file for this.

Those trophies are seriously BAD BASS!

If you're a newbie and don't feel you'd have a chance, post a meet-up request.  There's already an open invite from Pelagic paddler / Groundswell Kayak Guide Service for the OC area.  I'd hate to see people miss out on this just 'cause they don't have a ton of fishing hours logged on their yaks.  These events are as much about fun and commraderie as they are about winning.  Enter the tournament and you're guaranteed to improve your fishing and paddling skills.

OK that's just insult to injury. Unfortunately, I figure I am about 300 mi. outside the fishable area and I work on Saturdays.

Good luck everyone.  It would be awesome to take home one of those trophies / works of art.

By the way, if anyone is fishing the Willi around Sellwood bridge for this tourney, I caught my personal best smallie downstream of the bridge right about this time of year. I was drifting a split-shot  3" Senko (smoke w/ purple flake) in about 20' of water and landed a 6+ lb. beauty.

"During this check-in a basic safety check will be conducted and wavers and a float plan including emergency contact information will be completed. "

Guys this is my first fishing tourney and I want to know when I do my check in on Fri at 3pm at Next Adventure do I have to haul my yak down there for inspection? The first sentence above is straight out of the rules so I don't know if I have to bring my boat in and pfd.

No, for this one you do not have to drag the kayak to the shop.  I am just going to ask you a few questions to make sure you are safe.
