GS6 - 5/12/12 - Report with stats and a few pics on page 15

I may Make it down for that ..MY Folks Own the CHARTROOM RESTAURANT at the North End of the AIR Strip  SO I don't even Need a Place to Stay.LOL I started Out fishing in the Cove Before Moving here..Its about a 6 hr and 45min drive if you Know the Road..But if you dont its a haul for sure..THEY don't Call it THE LOST COAST for nothing..

I won't be going but the scenery is worth the trip all by itself. Spent two nights in Shelter Cove in 2010 and remember having drinks at the Chartroom. It was the only place open.

I can promise we'll have fun even if it rains (again...)   

Eric, I was planning to leave Oregon on that Thursday (10th), do a pre fish on Fri (11), but the season doesn't start till Sat (12), so I'm going to have to figure something else out.  I don't see any shellfish only licenses in the regs, as gathering some crab would be something to do on Friday.

I was hoping to get on the water Friday to get an idea what the area looks like before Saturday's tournament.

Ok I'm really thinking about this one.  I haven't been ab diving for a couple years usually go down to Van Dam.

love to make this one. i'm thinking about an ab dive also... will ab season match up w/ this event? any open ab areas nearby?

For those of you that can't make this Gimme Shelter (or are afraid of the rain!), the other big NCKA event is the Albion Open on August 11-12.  Just something to keep in mind.  Albion had Bear Republic as a sponsor last year.  So it would be great to get Team NWKASI to come down and show them how it's done.
