It was great to be able to return gesture that he had done hundreds of times for me growing up. I think the photos tell the rest of the story. AOTY points be damned, it was well worth it  ;D

I'm sure you bagged a crap-ton of fishy karma for that one.  Well played, sir!
I totally agree with you and Rawky.

Well played and yes, we'll worth it!

Nice report noah

I had fun freezing in the rain yesterday.

3 shakers in the multnomah channel.

Turns out I can't go today.

I am not sure if stores are still low on bait.

If anyone wants a box and then some of sand shrimp

Mine are free to whoever wants them- I'm at rosa parks and I 5
I would much rather be up a creek without a paddle than down one.

Jealous. Looks like you all had fun Fri. Noah. That was one hell of a fine gesture handing the Dino off to your Dad. I'll bet he was jazzed and you felt great :happy7: :icon_cheers:. Cancelled my trip to the Strait for the salmon derby due to high winds and still an ailing wife. Next time. Go get 'em today!! Save a few dino's for us up here in the Puget Sound. The WDFW wants to shut down sturgeon fishing saying that we get too many of your Columbia river fish and they are becoming depleted down in your area. I still love fishing for them and believe there does need to be better restrictions but not a closure. Working in a tackle store I've seen too many guys who are all about how many punch cards they can fill. How much Dino do you need? How about a 1 or 2 fish yearly limit and then c&r only? I'm going to limit my keep to the 54"'er I landed last year. Just my thoughts..... Have fun guys and be safe. Pics pls

I had no choice but to pedal back up to him and hand him the rod. It was great to be able to return gesture that he had done hundreds of times for me growing up. AOTY points be damned, it was well worth it  ;D

+1.  That was awesome Noah.  Good luck today.  I am sidelined because I am the only one not sick in my household right now.  Maybe if I slip everyone a little benadryl I can sneak out to GR. ;D

It was a good day for me on the Willy. I landed my first Sturgeon today! It was under size by 4 inches. Then I landed my first legal size. It was 48 inches.

It was nice to see a lot of you out on the water this week.

Thanks to all NWKA's. With out you I don't know is I would have ever gone sturgeon fishing from my kayak.

Thanks guys.

Man, today was a tough day of fishing. We got on the water around 7:30 and fished until after 6:00. I managed about the tiniest Sturgeon you've ever seen around mid day and we didn't see any other action until about 4:00. I think the outgoing tide seemed to help the bite. Around 4:00 my cousin hooked into an oversized that quickly took his 8 foot SINK directly into three boats to the left of us and snagged up a couple of them. The fish broke him off after he was tangled up. We apologized for causing the mess but he was beyond stoked to have hooked his first sturgeon and first fish from a kayak. I didn't realize how big the fish was and should have helped him try and steer it away from the boat. Next time. Well next time came around 5:00 when he hooked up and brought a 42 incher in. I towed him away from the boats this time. The fish came on a live sand shrimp with a night crawler topping. I think the picture again speaks to his level of excitement  ;D

Still no keepers for me but I will be hitting it again next Friday and Saturday.

Noah, way to be a great son/cousin, you got both your dad and cousin into fish.  There is going to be some good karma coming your way.  Every time I headed by you guys, you all had smiles on your face.
Willbe's fish was awesome.  I pulled up next to him on my way out and he told me he was on the hot hole.  About 1 minute later I had a line in the water and Willbd had a big fish on his line. For his first big fish he did a great job landing it.  I will post some pictures when I get my camera tomorrow.

Awesome job out there this weekend guys, & Noah, you're an awesome son for handing you're rod off to your dad like that, definitely a memory that'll never be forgotten.

Wish I coulda been out there too, but I guess making money to pay bills/for a wedding are more important :-\ .  I'm sure it was a mad house though, on my way back to the dock on the tug at 3:45 AM (Saturday), there was already dozens of boats anchored up/running around.  Hopefully next weekend

They clearly noted in the article that there were kayak anglers out there for the take along with all the PB's.
Way to be seen guys!
