I think we will have lots of company.  Dick's sold 53 cases of sandshrimp injustice a couple hours today. I am shrimpless. :P

FYi, I have 53 cases of sand shrimp I am selling for $5 a shrimp. Just kidding, but seriously the Dick's in Hillsboro still had quite a few containers left this evening. Plus I know that Hogg's in Hillsboro usually has sand shrimp as well.

As we speak (8:15pm) there are 19 boats anchored within 100 yards of the Oregon City Bridge and more guys at the ramp loading in (sportcraft).  I can say with no reservations that what you will see tomorrow and Saturday on the river is something thats never been seen before.  Just plain crazy :o  Keep your head on a swivel, its going to be busy.

Uhh...  Daymn.

As much as I love kayak fishing and with a bunch of NWKA fisherman, I am not into combat fishing whatsoever.
I hate crowded water, and I will NOT be anywhere near that caos.  I'll get AOTY sturgeon points later on the Columbia somewhere where I won't be fighting for inches between all the guide boats, and loose cannon beer drinkers.

Good luck guys!
Show them how it's done with the "Plastic Navy".

I'm going to spend the day pouring more "INSAYN Anchors".

It would be wicked cool to see everyones GoPro and other HD camera footage on the Willy tomorrow put together like a mini movie shot from various angles to help advertise NWKA.  There should be several cameras rolling, right?  8)

Good luck to everyone who is out there today. While normally this is a curse, today it is a blessing: May you hook up with a big old fat girl today.

Five yakers @ Gilbert River. No joy yet. Not crowded compared with St. John, mile long backup of sleds at 6:30!!

Weather tomorrow looks grim.

I bet you could walk across the river from boat to boat at the toyota hole.

Probably some grim on the way today too...

See ya on the water..

Weather looks perfect for tomorrow, chance of rain 100% - I hate uncertainty. Also, no tsunami or meteor warnings, what more could one ask for.

Interestingly, I looked at the sellwood river webcam and did not see a single boat:  http://www.richmorgan.com/

I know that the best sturgeon fishing is not in the picture, but I thought I might see someone anchored up.

When I drove by the Jefferson boat ramp in milwaukie this morning on my way into work I counted 22 boats between the wall and the point. Crazy!

I know it is really crowded out there, but I think my imagination may be worse than the reality. I picture it looking like hogline after hogline. I assume there is plenty of room for small sturgeon slaying kayaks out there :)

I stopped by the Jefferson boat ramp around an hour ago to see how many boats were now on the Willy. At one point the fish checker was close by my truck, so ask her what the numbers were so far today. She said that as of 2:50pm today at the Jefferson ramp(which doesn't have much parking, maybe 30 trailer spots) she counted 39 keepers out of 24 boats.. I think those odds are pretty good. The average person per boat was 3. Does that mean that 3 kayakers could catch maybe one or two keepers between the group? Or maybe these guys got into fish early and decided to get the hell out of dodge because of the boat traffic.

Anyone have a report yet???
