Wholesale Sports might have the Rapala ones - the one I use.  Dicks or Fishermans may have that one as well.

Wholesale does have the plastic extendable boards for about $8 or $9.  They float. My hawg trough floated....briefly.

If you can't find one, I have an NWKA Hawg Trough you could use. Let me know and we can arrange a meet up.
Might have to be on the water as I usually get out early.

LOL,yea if it lands right and traps air in the grooves where the bends are it will float briefly...and when they get just out of reach they seem to sink agonizingly slow!
See ya on the water..

Yeah I got the one you're talking about. Made by Plano, $8.99.  Seems like a nice unit, I only wish it had contrasting numbers to show up better in pictures.  Nothing some florescent yellow paint pen can't cure though

I appreciate the offer!

I got the 60" folding Berkeley plastic one because the numbers were large and should photo well. The challenge will be holding it steady and flat. It doesn't float (my first one is at the bottom of Rowland Lake). Noodle and shock cord on my new one.

 They're $10.99 at Wholesale Sports.

I'm in for Sunday at PC. If anyone wants to car pool I'd be happy to chip in for gas. I plan on staying the water as long as possible though.

I'd love to, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to get down there until around noon, and I'll be staying the night

No worries, my rig will make it over there no problem. Probably just down onto the beach.

Noah, if you can't drive down to the sand and have a beach cart, you can park in the parking lot above the beach and cart your yak down to the water.

A reminder to those who plan on parking on the beach at Cape Kiwanda:
Print out or write up a clearly visible sheet saying "LAUNCH/RECOVERY VEHICLE FOR FISHING KAYAK" in big letters to put on your dash while you're out on the water.  The section of the beach we park at reserved for vehicles used in launching and recovery of fishing vessels.  You risk getting a ticket otherwise.  If you forget one you will just want to park on the south side of the road to the beach or up in the parking lot.
