I can help and carry that sucker. I'd love to see it out on the water.

I hate myself. I already promised a friend I'd take them to the mountain this weekend. Oh the opportunity to fish with a great, be it Spot or Ndogg. It shall have to wait until another time. I pass my wishes on that you may only catch unclipped 30+ pounders. In all seriousness, best of luck to you all. See you out there next time.

True, thanks for the offer, I'll see if I can make it Sunday, if the winds are favorable sailing upstream is easy. May drive by Saturday to check out both launch spots.

I hope to make it out there Sunday also.  Weather and wind looks good.   No blood on the decks of my new, used Revo yet.  Thanks!

Sounds like fun...
I will try to make it, all my rods that are heavy enough for salmon are all a bit long for my kayak, but I can try to make it work.

I almost forgot. I do have a bachelor party to attend on Sat. night.
I may not make it :p

I wouldn't worry about the extra length.  I fish with an 8'6" and have been looking at longer rods.  The extra length comes in handy for when the fish cross under your yak and for getting them along side with a 6' leader.

If you decide to show up later in the day, just give a shout on VHF Ch 69 or 16.  We'll all be fishing within a mile of the launch site.

BTW: While I didn't catch one this morning, I saw 6 fish caught on the Willie and heard of several more.  They're here!

Hoppa,

Don't the amas come off the Island, or is it too difficult to get them off?  It seems like with them off, it would be so much easier for surf launches and hauling down an unimproved launch.  Also, less drag when trolling upstream or just peddling upstream I would think.  Of course, if the intent is too sail as much (or more) as to fish, it would not make sense.  But if trolling for fish only, I would think it would be easier.

Oh, and I intend to be there so I can help you carry it, too.  See you all there.

I fished around George Rogers today and only saw one fish caught. One boat had two fish both caught on herring. The fish I saw caught was with prawn spinner with green beads and green rainbow blade. The seals caught the most fish. At one time I saw three seals flinging fish around. We could count six seals with in 100 yards of our kayaks at one time. I pulled hearing and prawns and had one hit on a herring with no flasher close to the Oakgrove boat launch.

Craig, thanks for the launch help. I plan to drive over Saturday and look it over.

I've never removed the Amas even tho it's easy to do. As a neophyte I really like the stability and extra storage. Since I love sailing it's great to be able to deploy the amas and pop the sail, particularly to go against the big current. Not sure my noodle arms would prevail against the Big C.

Hope to see you out there Sunday.

Nice fish!  How did the battle go down?  Raise the eyebrows of any powerboaters?

Would love to join up on Sunday but have a belated Easter celebration with family from out of town.  Unless someone is still gonna be fishing around 4.  Might be too stuffed to fit in the drysuit though.  Big ups for putting it together Spot.

Anyone have a slow work week coming up?  I do before job in Idaho the following week.  Need to get some springer blood in my Outback ASAP and the weekends for me are pretty much shot in the foreseeable future.
