I can likely supply a fryer or two. Need to know more specifics though. Size, elec. or LP, self temp. regulating? Forgive me I'm a rotten cook. Lead cook, what do you need?

Big THANKS! to everyone who's volunteered so far!!!!

We still have some opportunities to help out and I'm not averse to adding more opportunities if anyone has a suggestion for additions to our contest or banquet support.

I'll volunteer for assistant prep cook or fry cook as long as I can fuel with some Nikasi while cooking. If frying, do i need to wear my pfd?

I can help with the prep cooking too of course.  Just don't want to be in the way if there's already enough folks.  I'll help out wherever needed.

According to clerk at the Cash & Carry the peanut harvest took a big fat turd this year, (last year? whatever) anyhow the stuff was like a buck a pound last year, up to a buck fifty. I got the same 3 jugs @ 35 lbs apiece, but if we're going to have more fryers going to speed up food delivery there might be additional "volunteer" opportunities available.

From a previous comment, sounds as if the fry cook misses a lot of the good eats due to time consuming cooking for everyone.« Last Edit: April 26, 2012, 08:41:07 pm by fishnut »

Are two of these enough to keep up? Or do we need more?

BAD ASS Fryer. I like it...that thing would definitely make things go faster. How hot does it get?

HMMM? Don't know. We fried around 350 last year. Then a rather uninformed added some real wet fish on top of a full enough basket spilling oil. Temps went up but we didn't think to check temps as the flames had our attention.

They need a bit of cleaning. And ops check. I'll do that next chance at getting salty two days in a row. :)

I think I'll be able to make it this again this year. This time I intend to fish  (compete might be a stretch) . As far as doing photography goes, I can do that again too, but from a kayak. Just hope I dont roll like I did last year.  ;D
