   Allen,
  Ain't gonna happen bro............
But I'd be pleased as punch to take you out in it .Name the time and place.......I will probably be unemployed for the entire month of May....so let me know.

  Gotta love the tease............

Why can't it happen?  We could take some measurements off the panels and come up with a stitch & glue kit.  I would love to build one.  In fact the more I look at it, the more I want one.

  Hey Craig,
Would you like me to bring it down next time I come to PDX ? Not sure when that'll be,but I don't have any problem with dropping the mini off for week or 2 at your place. Then you can measure away.....
Here is a better look at the guts.

That would be awesome, but my wife will shoot me if I don't finish our remodeling project first.  Let me know ahead of time when you plan on coming and I will see if it is feasible then.

By measuring, I was thinking of just tracing the panels on long sheets of butcher paper.  Thanks for offering, and I am really interested.  Maybe I can build one to be a prize at one of the events like the ORC.  It would probably be a couple years out though.  Unless Insayn or Pelagic Paddler wanted to use the panel drawings to weld up an aluminum one.  That would be much faster.

Craig,
You are going to be in trouble with the remodel. Weren't you in trouble last summer? Awesome job on the boat. You should show your stuff at one of those shows.

Great job!

I have made just enough progress on the remodel to stay out of the doghouse.  Sometimes underachieving isn't so bad.  It allows for more time to fish.

ya know, i think i counted about 6 of you who build. i know it's all for recreation and stress relief, but have any of you thought about partnering up and forming a small boat company for west coast only sales? with the talents you all have each one will be a work of art.

amazing work and thank you for the fantastic documentation.
As usual, impressed but not surprised by your work.
As blasphemous is it sounds, this is a boat I would mount on the wall as art to be appreciated in fear that it would not survive a season without me destroying that delicious finish.
again, strong work

Thanks for the complements.  The beauty of the finish is that you can give it a light sanding and put a fresh coat of varnish on and it will look like new. The curse of the finish is that every couple years you need to give it a light sanding and put on a fresh coat of varnish.

Heh, sounds like some sort of paradox.

It is a paradox.  I had considered having auto clear coat sprayed on but it costs a bit more and i like the ease of varnish touch ups.

That looks amazing! I read earlier that you started this project a year or so ago. How many hours have you spent on this?

I really don't know.  Life gets in the way.  If I could work straight thru a build without having to clean up tools, or move things around for more important projects, I could probably knock one out in 80 hours. Or, if I had a shop.  However, I seem to be always having to set up and break down tools so that probably adds another 20-40 hours.

Well it looks awesome. Quite an investment in time when life and other projects interfere, but the end result looks to be all worth it.
