Ok, you can pay me the $5 on Friday or Saturday before fishing. I'll be around all day Friday. I'll want to see your kiddie fishing gear.

Mark, can kiddie gear competitors use the ORC weigh-in station for official weight of their kiddie-caught fish? If so, we'll need to tell the judge to keep a side column for us.

I know several people said they will donate but aren't competing. I'll handle those donations as well.

Also, one suggestion...that the charity be chosen today. If we are going to start taking donations on friday (which I am) it would be good for people to know what they are donating to...rather than a charity "to be named later."

My suggestion for the charity is Heroes on the Water. It's an awesome organization, kayak fishing related, and a few of our very own run the local chapter.

All Kiddie rod weights will count toward ORC prizes but I'll make sure that the weigh in staff notes fish that were caught from the kiddie rods uniquely.

BTW: I'm working on lining up a SWEET prize for the winning Barbie slinger.  I'll know for sure by the end of the day and will post specifics then.

Rory,  We can let the Check-In/Weigh-In guys collect funds for late arrivals who want to fish the Barbie comp.  They'll just turn it over to you at the end of the day.  I would like it noted on people's waivers that they're fishing the Barbie Comp.

I agree with helping out the local kids.....they are the future.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Several of the coastal guys mentioned DB's Neighbors For Kids. I like the idea of benefiting the local community - HOW is certainly a great organization, but it is relatively easy to get donations for service men & women in most communities. How often do you think small local charities get unsolicited donations from outsiders? My vote is for staying local.

I'm totally down with that.  Depoe Bay Neighbor's for Kids will be the recipient!

Man Spot, you are the RADDEST!  And yes, kiddie competitors can pay at the weigh-in (before fishing).

Gonna be fuuuuuuun!

I vote you split the donation between the two new chapters of Heroes on the Water staring up in OR and WA. I could be slightly biased but Vets have kids, too and we are just in the process of getting our groups launched and Dino and I would appreciate the support.

Spot has given me the green light to set out a donation jar for HOW. I'll have it set out with the projector.

Awesome, I'll bring some HOW brochures and decals for the donors! Heck, I'll even sell rides on the iHop for a donation of $25!

Should somebody bring a separate dry erase board for the Barbie contest?

I think HOW is a very worthwhile cause, but I'm glad to see some money benefitting the local kids.

I've got my kiddy rod in the truck, but I haven't had a chance to swap out the line.  Anyone bringing a spoolof braid that could help me out?  I'd pay for the line, of course.
