Hey all... I've been reading posts for a long time... This may be my second post... not sure.  I'm headed out to Pacific City, where I've been wanting to go fishing.  My fishing buddy can't come with me, and I'm interested in finding out if there are folks headed out to fish this weekend.   If so, I'd love to chat, maybe tag along and see what I can learn.  Fished Boiler Bay once.  Seems PC would actually be easier.  Any thoughts? Anyone actually going to be there?  Thanks in advance!

Hey B-
PC is awesome, but the forecast is not looking that great for this weekend. Friday looks good, but the last time I checked the swells were in the 5 foot range on Saturday and Sunday. If you've never attempted a surf launch, or even if you have, I would highly suggest sticking to 3 feet and under. At 5 feet there is a VERY good chances you'll be doing some swimming. I might be heading for the coast on Sunday but I'm not 100% sure yet. If you want to shoot me a PM you may be able to tag along. Unless the swell drops for Sunday it would probably be Depoe. Be safe either way! Noah

*edit-I just saw you put the 20th to 22nd. If you get out on Friday, or any day this weekend, I'd try and go early. The wind will probably kick up around noon and may push you off the water. There are great places to fish all around the rock, try the north, west, or east side of it. You might want to also shoot a PM to DeaFish aka Vern if you can't find anyone else to head out with. He's a great guy and lives out there, I'd recommend not going at it alone.

I agree with Noah on this one.  Unless you're ok with getting pummeled in the surf and you have salty fishing buddy who can show you the ropes, I would suggest waiting for a more favorable forecast for your first salt run.  I'll be out of the area this weekend.

Many thanks!   I had not checked the forecast, but I did hear that anything above 3 is risky... I will not be attempting this.  I will 1. check the forecast from here on 2. bring my buddy...
I'll be in touch in case you do head out on Sunday.   I'm also going to be packing my kayak, I'm determined to find a lake to hook something somehow somewhere with or without someone.
Thanks again!

I'm now thinking about PC on Friday :) I'll let you know for sure tomorrow if me and a couple of other guys will be there.  Hopefully I can get the time off.

Im liking this... although now I've told my lady I am more than likely doing some lake fishing or even the Nestucca... either way, let me know... and of course, if Saturday is possible, I'll be there all day!

This weekend is Dory Days in PC. Friday will be the day if you want to get salty. Saturday town will be closed for a parade from about ten am for a few hours then will be way hard to get around until Monday.

Not to scare ya away. There's good fun and eats. Fishing tourny also. Pretty much Dory boats but open to all. Filleting contest on Sunday after 11am weigh in. Forecast is keeping me out of it this year. Doable but some work and likely I'd be coming in Keel-Up.

Ah... Yes.  I was there last year. I remember now.  Know what?  The more I think about this, the more I think I may hit the Nestucca...
Let's be in touch either way.

Between the swell and dory days I'd pick another objective this weekend if you're looking to get salty...

It looks real peaceful out there on all the coast web cams - I hope that holds true through the night for you guys. Tight lines and sagging sterns!

Nice seeing everyone out there fishing the lee side today. Hope everyone made it in ok. No problems on my end but the wind and waves definetly made it interesting coming in. I tried to call on 69 to give a heads up of what it was like but my VHF conked out right as I pushed the talk button.

My tally after 3:30 hours of fishing four blacks and one cabezon. Glad to get that caby for AoTY points before the season ended.

The wind had it really stirred up on the way back in for us, not really any swell but tons of steep short period wind waves.  Great seeing such a big group of really nice folks on the water today.
