No love from the kings. But a GREAT day. Something on the order of 160 fish caught by 700 plus anglers.  So a slow day compounded by the fact we chose to fish what was known to be a spot holding fewer but bigger fish.

Big waves in the morning. Some of the rollers we got had to have been 5 if not 6 footers. But it got really nice in the afternoon.

Plan worked great. We were 2 to 3 miles off shore duking it out with the powerboats. I think all of them were surprised we could keep up with them trolling in such conditions.

Will post pics once I can get them downloaded.

I have no doubt you guys surprised an awful lot of folks out there today.  Good on you for getting out and competing.  It's only a matter of time!  Now you're all dialed in for the Calcutta, eh?

Ouch..........oh so tired.  My legs are stiff already.

I don't know how many people took pictures/video of us, and I can't remember how many times someone told me "you're f$&@!/) nuts"

Hopefully the fishing gods will smile upon me soon with a king.
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

Yeah I'm a wreck! The drive is what got me! The highway is in pretty bad shape. It took me 5 hours to get home. Some of that was gas up and coffee stops but probably not more than 30 minutes

As far as getting back on the outback I did have some difficulty launching. Lost my bait and forgot to secure a hatch and put about 15 gallons of water in the hull. Landing was successful at least

Lol. Go for it. Michele took most of them from the K-Krewzer boat.

More coming. Need to grab the right ones.

Awesome pictures fellas... Looks like those hobies have been rigged and are thriving in those conditions. I really like the rod holders going across the kayak... looks easy to grab the rod and set the hook.
Do you use similar bait setups as us down here in puget sound for winter kings?
Thanks again for sharing
Aaron

We use Folbe rod holders. They are awesome! With one quick jerk they are out and in your hands. As far as setting the hook you just want to give a few hard strokes on the pedals when the hits an then take the rod out

As far as setups we run a flasher and a herring rigged to spin, I use herring helmets, cardinal does not. I'm not sure what kenai guy does. I have been experimenting with artificials Such as brads cut plug and some other lures. I haven't had any luck on them yet but I'll try more with them in may when the fishing gets better
