For current and tide information I like to use Deep zoom nautical charts. They will show how fast the water is moving and what the tide level is at any given time. So far I have found it to be pretty accurate.
The area near the "shipwreck" is actually called Hungry Harbor on most charts. Some folks call it the "Barge Hole" too. The shipwreck and the barge are both in the same cove. Between Knappton and the barge hole is approximately 3.5 miles, plenty of area to concentrate on and learn to fish it. And lots of very fishy water.
Last time I was fishing there...this past Tuesday.... my fishfinder was chirping pretty much non-stop in the trench that runs along the Washington side. Though I didn't hook-up.. I know there are tons of fish there. I hope you have better luck than I have been having. If you look at Deep Zoom you will see the trench I'm talking about.

Edit to read Hungry Harbor....sorry for the brain fart.

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Thanks for the details!  Very helpful for the silent lurker, maybe someday gonna catch a fish the big C.

Wreck of the USS Plainview: 46°15'24.6"N 123°51'05.4"W

Currents I use are on Fishweather.com under "Tides".  The closest current spot for that area is Point Ellice (where the bridge meets the WA side of the river).

Thanks for all the advice. Deep Zoom is a great find. Knappton to shipwreck was great water but no hookups. I pretty much followed the deeper water along the shore. Local reports said things have been slow there. I feel like i'm doing things right but the fish aren't biting. Still trying to figure out the fish finder. I'm seeing depth and structure but I am not confident that I know what a fish looks like. I drifted over a few ledges that seemed to show alot of "arches" that might be fish. Perhaps I should have floated on top of those spots for awhile.

Thanks again. Great spot that will produce some fish another day!
