Just a shameless bump to remind people of tomorrow's Estuary Salmon Seminar at Hoggs in Hillsboro.

See page 1 for all the info.

BTW:  As always, Hoggs is perfectly fine with people bringing in food or refreshments, even refreshments of the adult variety.

I'd like to thank everybody who turned out to Hoggs last night!  We had the shop pretty well packed.

Also, I really appreciated all the questions as they bring out detail or that I didn't have the foresight to include.

Hey Mark,

Sorry I missed the seminar.   Did you have the ProCure guy there talking about scents?   I have a question I thought you might be able to answer... how long does the stink last when salmon fishing?  I had some on for a really long time.  In fact, it was hard to get rid of and I think it was affecting my fishing in a negative way.

There are a lot of different viscosities and such, but it seems that some will remain on your gear until you physically remove it with soap.

I know there is a small religion worshiping Lemon Joy (not ultra) within the power-boating crowd. Every time they pull their hardware they will face east put on their nitrile gloves and baptize the hell out of their offering with Lemon Joy. If it accidentally contacts human skin, they must repeat the process until they have appeased their inner demon. The penalty for not following the above procedure becomes incumbent upon the neighboring powerboater to shun you from reentering "their" hogline for deliberately catching a fish with an "unclean" presentation.  >:D
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

Thank you for the informative seminar.
It was also refreshing to see how excited the owner of Pro-Cure gets talking and thinking about fishing-not just a business to him.

Your particular brand of stink is reminiscent of the high viscosity bait gels.  It sticks to everything around it and is insoluble....  Even detergent or vigorous rubbing (as you experienced at the Netarts Bay parking lot) doesn't seem to get it off.
Mental Note: Leave unused bait in Brian's vent next time I see him.....

Geez, I ask a simple question on this forum and get threats of rotten bait in my truck by the forum admin.
