finally got to watch episode 2. was enjoying issac's interview and then the BS about the competition. I dunno how it works in Hawaii, but you try and run me off a public spot here in Alaska I guarantee you will get the short end of the stick. maybe not at that moment but I have zero tolerance for that kinda stuff. I've had people try and run me off their "spot".  didn't end well....for them. I laugh thinking about the "fun" I've had at their expense.

not sure what I'd say if I was asked to participate in something like this. I can see the draw and the pay being enticing.

I know the show is not geared to kayak anglers. But if any up and coming kayaker think this is the way to behave, at least in Alaska, they are in for a huge surprise.

I've had communications with Issac and liked the brief interaction. I would very much like to support him.

But the premise of this show sucks and is terrible for the future attitude of new kayak anglers and the already fishing but media susceptible veterans.
I wouldn't buy into that completely. I don't recall the exact quote but I believe Isaac basically suggested on Facebook that portion of the show was fake and just added for additional drama.

If you take the drama and fake editing (Kimi is often in 2-3 different kayaks on the same scene) with a grain of salt the show is pretty awesome. I've always wanted to live on the big island and chase Ahi and other Pelagics.
I hear ya. I think the show has some merit. beautiful scenery and a few minutes of fishing. I'm against exactly what you said, the manufactured drama.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but it's not all manufactured.  Some of it is for sure, but not all.  Long before the show, I heard a few stories of people getting run off someone's fishing ground, in one particular case, a gaff was involved.  In this case, a punch to the nose slowed the attacker down before others at the beach got involved to stop things.

I could see that being true as well.

I'm glad a lot of it is manufactured.  Would suck if that many people in such a small area were giant a-holes

If this is true.....way to go Hollywood!

Take a relatively simple concept and add drama a some really annoying camera angles and literately kill something before it had a chance.

Try again, but let the kayakers do all of the filming themselves.  Then edit it altogether to make a usable platform.   ::)

Good idea but that's a lot of GoPro video to sift through.

Shouldn't be a problem for the Hollywood editors.  The upside is that they won't need to artificially inseminate more drama than what is already real.

Ever see the back story on the crab boat cameras?  Amazing how many cameras are hanging on each boat, running continuously.
