There was a guy at the cleaning station last week who showed Noahk and me how to take the cheeks out of lings and cabbies.  Man those chunks were good!

Nice Cab Insayn!!!!  That thing's a pig!

Great report and pics.  Any idea what those baitfish are that the cabbie chummed up?  They look too skinny to be sardines or herring.  Maybe because the fins are gone.  Anyone?

Nice fish guys.  It looks like you had a lot of fun.  I am not sure what they are but the baitfish look a lot like sand lances.

I looked in the Hall of Fame for Cabezon, looks like 24togo's 29" Cabby took the top spot.

I'll add it to the Big Fish Brag Board anyways.  8)

I found 1" thick meat chunks on the underside of the ribs, 3/4" thick belly meat, and even 3/4"  thick slab of meat behind the gill plates.  If I ever get another monster like this one, I'm going to keep the head and boil it up.  There is ALOT of meat in that head that a knife just can't get effectively.  Mmmmm!

I was very happy with the amount of meat I got off my fish as well.  My wife was happy (which is always a good thing) and we enjoyed half of the ling for dinner.  However, I am glad you guys posted a while back about candling the fish, because one of the rock fish was full of worms.  Some cysts were plainly visible, but I would have missed a few others.  I trimmed them out and we still got quite a bit of taco meat off of it.

And here is how colors appeared to me yesterday.  I made a mistake, and rather than getting meclazine for motion sickness, I inadvertently got mescaline.   That is the last time I buy drugs from an unlicensed street corner "pharmacist" in Portland.

Dude!  AndyJade and I want to go fishing with you next time.
