I know there will be quite a few early birds arriving at Chinook Bend a day or 2 before the 13th.

To minimize impact on the commercial and private boats we should try to go out in small groups. If you don't have a VHF radio--I'd suggest hooking up with and going out in a small group with someone that does have a radio. Once outside the "jaws" you can go explore the bay and find your own "secret spot" for tournament day.

Without going back through previous posts (again) just curious how many early birds will be there by Thursday ? From our family alone --myself,Seahorse,and Catch will be there.....

   Who else ????

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

We'll be getting in on Wednesday and will try to fish a couple hours in the afternoon. We'll be fishing Thursday and Friday mornings too.

My plan looks very similar to your's rev. I'm debating fishing the Willamette sturgeon retention opener. That will dictate whether I get out early or late on Thursday. I look forward to seeing you all.

I should be there Wednesday evening. I plan to do some fishing prior to the event. I'm unfamiliar with those waters so it would be nice to tag along with some folks.
I know there has been a discussion that includes maps of the boundaries and the no no zones to stay away from but it would be sweet if someone was like "hey chris, don't go over there".
I'm more of a visual person so I need to see this for myself rather than rely on a map.

Anyway, I'm for sure fishing on Thursday.

I'm bringing my family and actually staying in Depoe Bay - should be there Thursday evening.  Since this will be my first time out in the salt, I'm hoping to meet up with some folks going out Friday morning - will be looking for some pointers/guidance/etc.

After fishing Friday, I'm planning to visit camp in afternoon/evening.  Will also be there for the awards/taco feed Saturday.  With plans to return home Sunday morning.

Looking forward to this!

Those who go early and catch a big fish will have the opportunity to release and hope they stay under the same rock for Saturday :D
