If the sturgeon fishing is anything like last October, it is going to be an absolute massacre.

I am down for it.  I can help show people the ropes as well.  I can let someone hook up to me too if they don't have an anchor system and don't want to buy one for a 1 day season.  It would be BYOB, though. ;D
This sounds great...I'd like to get in on it. I have an anchore setup and don't mind if someone needs a hook up.

I may have to buy my tags. What size pole do you use on the kayak as my 12' pole might be too long.

7-8 foot with a sensitive tip works good. My favorite sturgeon rod is my saltwater jigging rod, it's got a good sensitive tip and a solid backbone. You'll want to be able to drop 4-6 ozs, maybe 8 if the current is really ripping.

would you use a 3-way or slide for the weight?

I like using a slider. I feel it lets me slip the bait out a little bit at a time while it's on the bottom.

Yup, sliding plus a bead chain leading to a sturgeon leader. 90-120 lb Dacron with a single barbless hook. Silly string helps keep your bait on too.

I have a rod you can borrow.  It needs a bait casting reel. It is the average ugly stik sturgeon rod.

Do you think my tiger stick is too much?

I would get some 8-12 oz pyramids.  They don't roll around on the bottom and tangle your gear as much as the round ones.
