I need to take my first salt water trip this year. I have all the necessary items finally. I'd also like to break 1000 points in AOTY and catch a largemouth bass larger than 4 inches.

- Catch a Chinook (and I don't care if I'm fishing from the bank)
- Land a Coho (not setting the hook is getting old)
- Take my first trip out in the ocean
- Keep The Boss fishing in her kayak
- Find and buy a good steelhead rod
- Try fly-fishing from the kayak

If I can do #1, I'll happily not get to do the rest... you hear me Fishing Gods?  I'm talking to you!

The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

I am with BB2Fish on wanting to break 40 lbs.  I already upgraded my bass net to real salmon net in preparation.
Get my nephews on some salmon when they come to visit.
Help a few more folks catch their first salmon, and be there to watch it.
Learn the Wilson River.
Use my fly rod.
Slay the pinks with the Washington Crew.

Take my oldest son to catch his first salmon. That's all that matters to me.

I just want to expand on the great year I had from a kayak. Plan more trips to tournaments (work/wife pending).

I haven't firmed up my 2015 goals yet. In 2014 I had/have some overall goals, mostly modest, and some AOTY-specific goals. I wanted to go salmon and halibut fishing from the kayak, and I did those things (but no fish so far), and I wanted to participate in 3 tourneys, which I also did. I'm planning a post in January for my 2014 AOTY journey, so I'll leave that to that...

I feel like I was able to get out a ton this year, but a few times I felt like maybe it was too much, putting other things aside. So maybe my goal for 2015 will be "get out as much as possible but stay balanced."

Some ideas for 2015:
  • Be humble and appreciate all of the great people I've met through kayak fishing
  • Help out newer kayak anglers more
  • Finish in the top 10 in the 2015 Cascadia Big Fishing Year challenge
  • Finish in the top 5 in AOTY for Oregon
  • Keep catching bigger cabezon than UplandSandPiper (less of a goal, more of a given)
  • Stop chasing reports
  • Catch a gat-danged channel cat!!! (shaking my fist at the sky)
  • Find a striped perch honey hole
  • Find a place to catch flounder in Oregon and/or fish the Nisqually delta
