High probability for me -- plus I can get some prizes and maybe a sponsor. Either that, or it was all small businessman braggadocio. Sometimes hard to tell. It's the end of the quarter for the state fiscal year though, so that could create some competing time demands for me. Fingers crossed. Really want to be there -- missed out last year by being hyper-responsible. Don't regret staying close, but regretted missing the event.

Oh yeah, I will get a fancy trophy!  Maybe save some time by just putting your name on it!!!  I'm fine it with it...I am hoping the others complain loudly!  hahaha.  We are going to get this dialed in and catch some BIG fish!!!!

Learned your lesson? "break your line?"  Are you nuts?  NEVER NEVER NEVER....all the way to my watery grave someday I am sure....

Still not quite sure the format.  Big fish? Combined total?  All AOTY species, etc.  I figure I can land at least 5 species from that area.  6 if you can get lucky.  I still prefer Big fish format.  We will get it dialed in.

Secret...in case I choose that format....lol.

Ok ok...during that time.   King Salmon, Halibut, flounder, greenling, dollies...and maybe a small rockfish if you are really lucky. Red salmon would be a possibility to but very low until someone gets it dialed in better.    If they would let us count our sculpins in the cabezon category, you could add one more.  I'd be against it personally since cabezon are prized fish and our sculpins not so much.

I'm thinking beginners luck will be in my favor so leave that name tag blank Rudy. Is there or should there be a modest entry fee?
I'll see if I can hustle up a prize or two from tackle dealers, kayak fishers are such a large purchasing block after all.

Michilutiiq and Uuqutiiq are in for the Yak Classic. Added to the calendar so it's like gold.  "I shall not skunk this year! I shall to skunk this year! I shall not skunk this year!"

Sadly, I will be gone for this.   On a positive note, I'll be stuck/fishing on a tropical island.

Bummer. But we plan to have a couple more get together a later in the year. Thinking maybe a trout trip and a coho trip. Stay tuned!!!

As I am just a beginner I may just come down and watch and learn. Never been to whiskey gulch can you get a 16 foot trailer down to the beach or just a vehicle and is it tent camping?
