I have a 3 day weekend coming up and my new Propel should be here Thursday so its time to fish.  I have to work the weekend of the upcoming derby (16th)so I'm going to take advantage while I can.  I'm probably going to end up camping on the beach, anyone that wants to join or just come introduce themselves is welcome.  I will have a tan Chevy Tahoe with a bright orange kayak, PM me for my number as well.

Nice.  Jealous.

The weather looking a tad iffy Thur and Fri.  Still a little far out to rely on the forecast though.  I am definitely looking to fish Saturday or Sunday.  Family CEO/CFO/COO says I can fish one day.

My plan is to focus on halibut a little while than try and see if I can get some kings to hit.  Likely release all my kings.  I still need tto get a proxy or I'lll be short a king to harvest after the Anchor Point derby...I hope!

Assuming the wind and waves agree I should be able to roll down this weekend.   Will know better as we get closer.  Watch for a red Outback with a silver Tundra strapped to it ....

I'll keep you guys posted. Friday and Saturday do look kinda schechy but things change fast and no matter what I'll be there Saturday and if it's too crappy I'll just find some rainbows some where.

Good to hear. I think my plan will be similar. ...butts first then troll up a king hopefully.  Gonna be down to the wire for me though cause I'll have to spend all day Friday rigging the new yak if it comes in, other wise I guess I'll be rolling in the good old Scupper Pro.  Amazon sent me the wrong fish finder so I'll have to rely on someone else for depth...

Whiskey gulch. A FF is not critical. Anything over 10ft of wTer and you are fishing.  I want try a few jigs first but after that I'll be slow trolling herring right off the bottom in about 25 to 30 ft or less of water for butts. That's like 200 yards offshore.  Trolling against or cross current seems twice as effective as drifting for butts. Might catch a king. Caught a couple of kings while doing this and just picking up speed with line in water to change depths.

On a glass calm day, I wonder if a top water bait would work? They are only ten ft down. They move that far I would think.... Ooooo..... THAT would be cool!!!!!

SUP = Stand Up Paddleboard

Both Sat and Sun look do-able now.  I am leaning Sunday but we will keep an eye on the weather.

We shall see, I will be there both days no matter what, if the weather is too crappy I will just test out my new pneumatic bait launcher and surf fish.

Jealously courses through me. My wife is supposed to pop no later than the 12th otherwise I would join you guys. My Coho Killer lures finally arrived and I got some other things I want to try for halibut but I don't the the boss would appreciate me being on the water when her water breaks. Kinda selfish of her if you ask the fisherman in me  ;D.

I'm looking for the thread about upcoming tourneys. Where is that link?

Here's the link were i got the idea from, mine is a little less high tech and cheaper. Mine cost about $100 to make, I'm just waiting on the modified sprinkler valve to finish it.  I'll be sure to do a write up and post pics when it's finished.
