Also, I've heard that perch bite is great in the Powder River arm right now.  It's been a little too windy for my taste but I need to go soon.

Awesome Sherman, I hope to open registration tomorrow. I'll try to hit Brownlee sometime this week to see how the fish are biting.

My bro Tattoo Artist Richard Samson Jr. provided the artwork for the flyer and even threw down a Maxfire torch 2 burner gas grill. See the pic at the Brownlee Crappie Shootout fb page. Thanks Rich. Check out his work on instagram Samson_Art_Studio

It's good to see West Sider's coming over to this East side tournament!  Sherminator will be some serious competition.  I don't know how Jed does it, but he's killin' it on getting sponsors and gear for everyone.

Never done a tournament before so forgive me if this is already generally understood but I have a rule question: Brownlee is a long narrow reservoir, and a roads run most of the length of the reservoir on both the Idaho and Oregon side.  The flyer rules specify that "Craft must be human powered to and from fishing areas."  Does this rule mean that from the start site (say Farewell Bend Park) everyone has to pedal/paddle to where they plan to fish, or can the kayak be transported to another put in location and the paddled to the fishing area with no motor being used while the kayak is actually on the water.
Thanks.

Hello IdahoSkies. You can drive to any part of the permitted area then launch from there. The rules are mostly about using motors and mothershipping. -jed

Protective Industrial Products box just arrived. These guys have some cool safety products that kayak anglers can use. They sent the Brownlee Crappie Shootout (1) AT290 e-flare and (1)TF250 e-flare. Both are water proof. The 250 has flash or flashlight settings and the 290 has flash or steady on settings. Thanks Reid. Visit www.pipglobal.com to see their full line of safety gear.-jed
