Bi-Mart provided the BCS with a $20 gift card. I'm stoked Bi-Mart joined the party because I spend a lot of time there. They carry everything and they are everywhere. Awesome. Thanks Bi-Mart.  www.bimart.com

I'm hitting it tomorrow afternoon in a powerboat to see if the big spawning female bass are in yet.  I heard a 20+ was caught last Friday so they are close!!!

I love those lancer Jigs.

Went in to Idaho River Sports to put up a flyer and introduce myself today and was surprised when they offered 2 one hour Kayak/SUP Pond Rental gift certificates for prizes. Sounds like a great way to try out a kayak to see if you like it before purchasing one. Check out their shop at www.idahoriversports.com. Thanks Dave and Idaho River Sports for the local support.-jed

I think those koozies will get some use this weekend. Proper attire is going to be pfd and sunscreen.

This week is taking too long.

Just a little more info. If any Washington guys are coming over for the tourney and still need to buy their license, you can save some cash by getting one from Idaho. Price difference is Oregon 2 day $34.50 vs Idaho 2 day $18. Id is valid for main stem Brownlee.-jed

I made it home from The BCS Shootout.  I want to say Thanks to Jed, his family, all of the competitors and sponsors.  It's a Tourney I'll always remember.  The fishing was unbelievable.  100's of fish were caught.  I stuck a treble hook all the way into my finger and had to pull it out.  The storm that blew in ,blowing a tree down onto Jason's truck and narrowly missing Jason and Bradley, and clipping Jordan.  Luckily everyone was ok.  The tents were picked up on all 4 corners and relocated to a safer location promptly during the wind storm.  What a good time.  Hope there's another one next year.

Great tournament!! Thanks Jed and family for putting this together. Glad to see some familiar faces, and meet new ones; Hopefully we will meet again at another event. This was my first time ever fishing for crappie, and I can't believe we caught 100's of crappie each. This was definitely an event to remember, and hope to attend the next one.

The Brownlee Crappie Shootout ended up with a modest but enthusiastic crowd on Saturday. A dozen kayak anglers braved the wrath of an Eastern Oregon Spring storm to compete for fun and prizes while supporting some great charities. The day started off rough and turned nautical as the wind and waves continued to build throughout the day testing the abilities of everyone. The action was fast and constant with all competitors catching many ten inch crappie. The event ended without any aquatic incident but the awards ceremony and pot luck was interrupted by one heck of a thunder storm, bringing gale force winds, lightning, thunder and rain that actually caused physical pain. Back at the camp ground was a yard sale. Tents were laid over, gear was strewn about and everything not tied down was headed East. During a micro burst a tree came down on top of a competitor's truck doing significant damage to the roof and one side. The three guys working on the truck at the time had the presence of mind to take off running when they heard the loud cracking of the tree giving way resulting in only minor scrapes and a new appreciation for mother nature. Tents were moved while still up and filled with gear. Six people steering a giant kite in high winds is a sight to see. The day ended as it should, around a camp fire with new friends talking about fishing and adventure. All in all the event was a success.......mostly.
