I'm cool with pads and straps if you are!

Keep me posted on the WAF. I still have to run it by the GF. I might be able to switch my work sched around to get off saturday.

If not, pdx sturgeon will be fun if the rain doesn't mess it up.

I've also been seeing some monster carp around 20 pounds just hanging around the marina by Alder Creek on the Columbia.

I'm jonesin so hard to catch a fish after having to sit out the last month, I might slum it this week and toss a few at those carp before work!

I got chovies from Joe's.  Got about 60 brined and frozen up right now.    ;)

If we fish in the salt (oakland bay in the salt side, outside at Minter, or Hoodsport) they'll come in handy.  Otherwise corkie and yarn tipped with prawns is what I'll be using.

I'm up for Minter Friday!!  Launch at the bridge ramp and paddle ,,,,er, pedal....down and fish the mouth.

Cough cough ... I feel a cold coming on Friday.   ;)

-Allen

Yes!!! I officially have a cold on Friday.  I love it when that happens.  We on Kalli?  BTW, Minter Creek Oyster Company has an oyster farm on the bay.  I wonder if they'd just let us launch through there if we buy some oysters from them (something I usually do when I fish Minter anyway).  Worse case we can claim ignorance if we can't get back up the creek and take out there and walk back to the cars.

If you can't get to it, you don't need to necessarily worry about brining the chovies.  They are more or less static under a float.  And if you can't get chovies, get the smallest herring you can find.  And if you still can't find anything, I'll trade you a bag for some beer!   ;)

And yes, I'm planning on fishing both Friday and Saturday now.  Shhh ... don't tell the gfriend.  Oh wait, I already told her to get her nails done on Saturday and she works on Friday, so I'm prolly good to go.    >:D

I got tons of corkies too ... every year I seem to replenish the stock just by walking the banks and picking up "trash".

Yes, they can hit like a freight train and they don't stop until you have them on the bank.

For bait, I would be tempted to dye some (cheap) little cocktail shrimp. Green shrimpies.  :P

A lot of guys use the cocktail shrimp at Rufus...

Why not take it to the next level & dye some anchovies? Like a Shamrock Shake for fish...  :D

Lookin' forward to the chum-a-thon with you all!

Have you guys picked a location and time yet?  I'm still on the fence at this point and I'll need to drive over to WA to pick up a day license before I go on Saturday.

I'm good for Oak Bay. What do you guys think?

they don't stop until you have them on the bank.
