Have any of you other south coasters ever put in at Simpson's beach? I never even knew that place was there, but the area around the beach looks like it would be great fishing, plus it would be a fairly short paddle from there to get to Simpson's reef. It would be a little hike in from the parking spot, but no where near as bad as South cove.
Enjoy the ride!

I was just looking at that reef tonight wondering if anyone fished that area.  I saw it is quite the swim from the Sunset launch, and I didn't even see the Simpson beach either.  I'm interested as well to hear what the fishings like there.

Is that the beach below Shore Acres? If so, i would never lauch there. It's extremely steep and always has breaking waves on it

It is just south of shore acres but what do you mean by steep? I was there yesterday and it looked like it would be a very easy put in. If you mean the bank is steep then it might just be a matter of watching the tide. It was high tide yesterday when I was there and at that point there was one small wave breaking on the shore. About the same type of thing you go through while putting in at sunset.

I don't know. It was just an idea to get to Simpson reef a little easier.
Enjoy the ride!

You need to be a little more specific about what beach it is. Like maybe a google map with a mark.. Is it the one that you take a trail down, park where theres  four concrete posts at the road? The easiest way to get to Simpsons would be from the abyss, depending on conditions on the outside..

I will see if I can get it marked on google maps.

the trail to simpson beach is a LOT easier then the one to the cove.

It's the one with the little wood bridge across the creek?  I wouldn't launch there, I'd rather do the abyss trail, at least you can tell from the top if it's gonna be doable..

Could someone in your group take some "launch",  "in water", and "return to land/huli" pics for us Northern folks?
