Forgot to tell youz guys about the funny thing i heard. My buddy Ralph, who is techonologically challenged, isn't on NWKA and doesn't really know how the AOTY format works, was going over his strategy for the tourny with my other friend Fred.

He was gonna try to catch 7 greenling and clean house on the tourny. When Fred told me about this so called "strategy", i couldn't help but LMFAO... have i told him the bad news yet?..hell no!, i'm gonna give him a couple more days of thinking he's got the winning strategy... :banjo:

I was actually thinking about dropping my cage in the light house area.

I have 50' of rope on my trap, is that enough for the Sunset area where crab cohabitate?

I'll let CBY update everyone on the outcome of the tournament, so until that, here's a couple of pics.

Needless to say, it wasn't very calm! However, fish were caught, and it was a great day for everyone who participated!

We had a fabtabulous time down there Roy!  My folks are saying that Sunset is their new favorite campground.  I can say, I totally agree!

What a beautiful place, and awesome fishing grounds.  So many places to hit, unfortunately the ocean was not nice.  WAYYYYY steeper swells and shorter duration than the Depoe Bay ORC tourney.   However......I figured something out with my personal "chumming" issue.  I seem fine on flat calm water, no issue.  Small swell, with big duration, no issue.  Big steep swells, on short duration I seem fine with as well.  But the tall swells that I don't see, but my gut feels is my nemesis, and can cause me to lose some "chum".

Oh, and that Revo rocks!  Two days of fishing back to back in less than crappy ocean, and I wasn't sore at all.  My legs were tired enough to make climbing my camper stairs a bit wobbley, but fine by morning.  Conditioning will fix that.  The primary stability is about the same as my T13, as well as the secondary (I assume).  I really haven't had the T13 in conditions as steep as the Revo has seen already.  The Revo stays absolutely level when a steep swell rolls under.
And this thing scoots along nice and holds in windy conditions nicely.  I was able to stay on point with a few kicks of the pedals, vs grabbing the paddle to correct and hold my position.

Now, back to the Sunset Bay Tourney.   Roy man, you pulled off such a cool event in such a short time, that I was seriously impressed beyond words.  Those that made it down to the event all seemed to have an awesome time and enjoyed "Good Eats", and those that did not, well you missed a really really great time.

Prizes were awesome for a first time event, as well as for being put together in such short order.  Roy, you da man!

The venue....AWESOME!!!  Being able to just hop in your yak, and pedaddle effortlessly out to the big blue and into the combat fishing zone was beyond my wildest thoughts.  Then to just cruise in effortlessly as the light breeze pushes you along until you bump against the beach.  Hop out, short walk up to the truck, and drive it down for recovery.

We had nice hot weather during the day, which gave us all a nice burn/tan, and some very comfortable camping conditions.  Can't wait to get back down there and fish that area on a calmer ocean.

Thanks again Roy for putting this on.
