Hey Roy I just got home. Had a great time even thou I didn't catch any fish. But when we were salmon fishing I didn't see anybody else catching anything. Sorry about setting up my yak took so long. I didn't realize how long it took to set all my stuff up on my sink. That whale was somethig else ::) At first I thought it was one of them 600# seals that had been going past us  >:( Than I saw that tail come up WOW was that cool. ;D I don't know how the pictures are going to come out ??? I only add one of them $10.00 underwater cameras since I lost my good camera that is at the bottom of Applegate Lake. When we fished that last reef I think we were about 1/4 mile out from the rocks. The wind and swells kicked up I was thinking that I might have to try out my bilge pump but no water ever came in the yak except for rain water. :banjo:
Thanks again for bringing me out for my first salt experience.

i don't doubt that at all, the big blue is an amazing place.. :blob8:

Sept. 19th   day off!! needed that.

Sept. 20th   Trolled the Coquille river, got bored a half mile up decided to turn around, fight the current back to the big bend near the dock and toss a spinner for Coho. Good thing i did, one of the rods for the flippers came out, set screw loosed up. was able to shove it back in and make it to the dock without having to resort to the paddle..wheww!

1 bullhead, nothing silver...

cool pics. The picture in our mind of the first time the whale surfaced is the best one, that was pretty awesome.

Sept. 21st   trolled from Cal. st. launch to marshfield channel and back. Landed one jack. was slow, i talked to quit a few boats with blanks...

See ya on the water..

Sept. 22nd   Fished Sunset today, it was an awesome day on the salt. Caught a bunch of different sized lings, lost one at the boat that had to be about 32". Landed an upgrade Ling just shy of 30". After the camera died i had a 24" ling hooked right in the belly, boy did i think i had one hell of a fish on! only caught one Black, which is downright bizarre for all the jigging i did.

Cruised for a half mile with a whale, if only my camera wasn't dead. All i could get was a few seconds record, then it would shut down. Turn it on again, record for a few seconds, shut down! arggg! would have had some good footage. I have a tendency to hit record the first time and forget the camera is even on. I get an hour of BS and miss the good stuff.

I love the salt!!

Excellent fluke shot, Roy!  And a nice ling to cap that first video - loved it.  Very well done, Man.   :)

Sept. 23-24   trolled, casted and plunked my way to a skunking... fished the Coquille river hoping to get a nice wild Coho so i can quit fishing for these f'n fish for the year...

Dropped some bait in what is supposed to be a sturgeon hole for a while but the critters were in and marauding my bait.

After this month i'll probably only have the energy to fish every other day in October... ;)

I'll take a few pics tomorrow when i take my yak out of the truck to launch.

Sept. 25th  trolled the coquille river, not even a tap!!

Sept. 26th   trolled early on the Coquile. had two good hits and lost one at the boat that had to be all of about 14 inch's. Have no idea how a Salmon can slam a blue fox, strip out line and just get off the hook(s), crazy! I can barely get 'em out the box without sticking myself..

Sept. 27th   another wack day on the Coquille. This was the deadest day i have seen for a while, yesterday i saw about 300 fish jump. I would literally see up to ten at a time launching out in different spots. Some of the Jacks would catch 4-5 feet of air.

Today i saw maybe 30 jump in the same time and spot on the river. Think i saw 3 or 4 caught, one was right in front of me and big!... :-\ Lot of boats were skunked. So glad it only cost me about 10 bucks to go fishing.

See ya on the water..

Roy,
It's been a hell of a month...what's your plan for October? You need a break. Maybe, a fishing trip to relax is in order.  ;)
