I just tore down a cedar fence at my house.   I'll try to remember to stuff as many of the old pickets into my truck that will fit around my fishing and camping gear.

If anyone from the Portland area going to ORC has some extra truck space they should feel free to stop by and pick some up for the fire.

If your ceder fence material is oxidized, please save me a few boards.  My wife just mentioned yesterday that she'd like to make a bird house with some old ceder fencing.

Oxidized might be a bit mild of a term.  This is more: weathered, mossized, and lichenized.

You're welcome to pick through what ever I bring.

Brian

Anybody else like cabbage on their fish tacos?

I don't think it's really a baja style fish taco without it.

Ready to go:

7.5# of RF beans (1/2 vegetarian 1/2 regular)
6# of Salsa de Rosa (1/2 Hot, 1/2 Medium)
2# of shredded cheese

Hope this is enough of a contribution for the Fish Tacos...

I signed up for cabbage... 3 heads enough? more?

I'm kind of a Baja fish taco purist:  Crispy fried fish, shredded cabbage, touch of pico , "baja sauce",  maybe a dash of hot sauce depending on how spicy the pico.... done!

Interesting simple taco, PP.

I like my fish juicy with crisp batter, light dollop of a mixture of sour cream and taco sauce, cabbage, or lettuce, cilantro, fresh squeezed lime juice, and some shredded cheese.

Anyone else have a Fish taco preference?

I'm getting hungry!

I'm with PP ... simple and delicious.  I like a squeeze of lime on mine.  "Baja sauce" can vary depending on the mood I'm in and what I have available.  It could be as simple as ranch or italian dressing or an italian ranch (a little of both).  I do prefer a flour tortilla and some would claim that is not a true Baja fish taco.  Others would claim corn is not a true Baja fish taco.  If I'm feeling especially bold, I'll drop a grilled green onion in it.

I'll bring a couple bottles of Guacamaya Hot Sauce.  The last time we were in La Paz and provisioning up at the grocery, we were in the hot sauce aisle (yes, a whole aisle).  Guacamaya had the biggest presence on that aisle, so we figured if they had a lot, them must be selling a lot for a reason.  We bought a decent sized bottle and wouldn't you know it, we ran out ... GOOD STUFF!!!  My buddy ordered a case upon his return and left me with a couple small bottles.

Well since you're curious Spot, I've been snipped, so technically my girlfriend batter is Gluten Free   ;D

Margarita fixins is on the original list, so add in 1.5 liters of Tarantula with 2 bottles of Margarita Mix... oh and my blender.
