I also liked the "recent catches". I  check the standings all the time but it's hard to remember what everyone caught and when. Kind of makes me want to go out and "catch" when the new ones get posted on the main page.

+1 on the front page 'recent catches'. I learn a lot seeing what others are posting, and something from their comments. Hope my comments help someone in return. It will be more difficult to sift thru the individual catches of each angler to get this same info.

+1  1   I've had the 'winter skunk' the last few times out.  Need a little bit of hope from time to time (and a lot more skill)

I welcome the front page recent catches.  I thought it was just a glitch on my computer that it wasn't showing up.

I also think Fil (YakBum) should get an automatic email for every fish caught and posted in AOTY this year to help him get settled back east. :)

Being new to the 2014 AOTY competition, I was wondering how long it usually takes for pictures to be approved?  I understand the administators have lives too, but should it really take 2+ weeks?

oh and +1 for the front page "recent catches" that was awesome!

Lastly, a big THANK YOU to all NWKA administators.  You fuel our addictions, and make fishing even MORE enjoyable!   :icon_thumleft:

I bet things start to pick up as soon as the weather gets more of us out fishing.

I would offer that I really liked having a "Recent Catches" area on the home page...it kept AOTY at the forefront and was an easy way to see who's caught recent fish. I really hope it's on the list of things to do otherwise what's out of sight is out of mind.

At one time, didn't AOTY "Recent Catches" show up on the home page left banner?  It was pretty fun to see all the successful avid anglers logging their fish, even if they didn't brag about their catch in a specific post on the main forum.  I really enjoy seeing the fish photos on the home page, would like to see that return...but don't know how big of a project that is for site admins.

Sometimes it does take that long. You can always send a reminder to the AOTY committee. Sometimes there may be delays if your fish is being debated due to a rules issue. Sometimes it's just that we're all busy. You can PM me, Lee, or revjcp to light a fire. I approved a few fish and am waiting on feedback on a couple of others.

I just had a thought. If there is not going to be "recent catches" displayed anymore and the committee approves them in batches, maybe you could just bump this post periodically with the recent catches.
