Looks like a lot more fun than getting pepper sprayed at Walmart.

Looks like you all had a great time and as much as I planned and wanted to be there....life happens

Was this picture really "Sturgeon's Eye View of Island Hoppa" or Craig donating another camera to a large body of water, while in the background you could hear Another one bites the dust >:D (I'm laughing with you Brother, not at you.)

Craig was too busy playing "bumper cars" with Joe to drown another camera...

Mine's on a stick with a float. I also leash it sometimes. Goes well with my suspenders and belt combo. Can't be too careful out there.

Great pictures guys.  Ihop, now I need to get a paint roller from Home Depot.  I got the LCD back pack for my GoPro.  I can now check my crab rings without pulling them. ;D

Assuming Bluetooth penetrates 40' of H2O. Haven't found any specs on that.

Soon you can use gopro's new wifi attachment that comes out feb 2012 and view your crab rings live from your smart phone.

I guess you would still need wifi for it to work. Try poaching mo's Internet signal next time your in siletz bay
Oops we need to upgrade to hero2 as well. Didn't we just buy hero1's??

I wonder what frequency the remote uses? If its like microwave, it won't work underwater.... Not past a few feet at any rate  i was hoping you could turn a camera on at first strike or in a fishy location.  Anyone venture a guess?

As a retired Microwave Engineer I must sadly report that the penetration depth in water for Bluetooth, WiFi and Cellular Frequencies around 2.4 GHz is extremely shallow, less than a few inches. Bottom line, you can likely see farther down in even murky water than your iPhone can penetrate with any microwave signal.

The equations are in the above link. Unless you're going to fish in ice or quartz you're going to just have to keep the GoPro running and hope you got a good shot.

There are hard wired systems that allow you to see and control an underwater camera. They're a lot bulkier and more costly:

Still, it would be fun to have one, Christmas Gift list?
