Other than cabazon I think the changes last year are pretty close to right on for points.
Has anyone mentioned that only four of the five salmon species are on the list. 2013 is a pink year....

It's been brought up several times.

Allen-
Is there a plan to raise or lower any point per fish? There are a few that seem high and a few that seem low. Do you look at an average and assign a trophy size at the end of the year? Or is it more just shooting from the hip?

Oh man, did you see the points from last year?  It's a lot better this year.  Which fish are you seeing trouble with right now?  (points wise)
I guess I don't remember. I thought there were only a couple of minor changes from last year? Off the top of my head I'd probably bump Lingcod, Coho, up and drop Chum, and Cabezon down. Maybe a couple other tweaks.

Pretty sure Lingcod was 4 pts per inch last year (currently 5) and I think either Cabs were lowered or several other species were increased to catch up with them.  There were definitely improvements made.  It's hard to get tone from text so let me be clear, there is always room for improvement, but it's a lot better now than it was last year.

I think we need to add cephalopods.   ;D

I think this year was pretty spot on! Cabs might be a bit spendy still, but looking at how competitive the top 10 are I think we're on the right track.

Agreed ... last year's point change pretty much nailed.

Only 3 are currently listed.  Sockeye's are not.  Unless you can count them as Kokannee (which I'm pretty sure you can't).

I think the Mottled Sculpin is under-represented

Yeah, I wish Sockeye would have counted.  I caught a nice one.  If there were a change I would make, it would be to put cutthroat and rainbow into one category (since their points are so close) and add German Browns in with Lake trout.  I know the browns don't have the same size potential as a Laker, but hey, I would much rather chase them in a mountain lake than try to catch a panfish.   ;)

I was waiting for a "2013 AOTY suggested rule changes" thread to start.  Looks like it's started here.  Maybe it would be a good idea to split it off into it's own thread and keep the AOTY 2012 just for 12 stuff.

I'd suggest someone with admin control go back to about post #198 in this thread, cut from there down, and paste into a new 2013 AOTY thread.  :D  That way it would clean 2012 AOTY up and we wouldn't loose any of the 2013 comments written so far.

Actually INSAYN started that thread after I had posted this.

Not that I'm watching AOTY scores or anything...

But Fungunnin's lead just widened.  Looks like he hauled up a perch yesterday.  OH SNAP!
