Yeh, I only wish i could run dodge n jump again.
i been nursing this bitch for 22 years and it's progressively gotten worse, Hindsight being what it is i could have done lots more to prevent most of this.

Will know more after the 28th of the month when i get re-examined. Hoping no more surgeries, Maybe it can be stabilized with the newer cement techniques.

Update 18 Mar:
Severe lumbar arthritis was the diagnosis. M.R.I. scheduled for 1Apr to determine what other issues may be affecting my spine. Now on massive daily doses of Naproxen Robaxin Tramadol .  I can move a lot better since starting the dosages, not leaning to the right like a 200 year old cripple. Mostly everything hinges on the MRI now.

As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.

Speaking of injuries, I picked back up going to the gym consistantly for the first time since my back surgery 3 years ago. Hurts like hell during my workout, but I feel so much better after I work out.
For me, it's been gym 5 times a week.

Mon, Wed, Fri:
30 min cardio on treadmill or elliptical, followed by 10 minutes in the sauna, 25 minutes swimming laps, 10 minutes in the hot tub.

Tues, Thur:
30 min on weighs, 10 min sauna, 10 min swimming laps, 10 min hot tub.

I'm determined to get back in shape to my pre-surgery condition.

Eating right is the challenge, but my wife is a big juicer so she's been pumping me full of cale, spinach, apple, carrot, and banana shakes.

Well done man!!!!...I go to LA Fitness in hazeldell and the one by wholesale at least 6 days a week ( unless I'm fishing/hunting on the weekend then 5) my regimen is slightly different though...I constantly switch things up (more reps less weight, less weight more reps, different muscles paired together etc....) but this is my current routine...

MONDAY- chest/calfs  (4-5 sets of 8-10 reps) then 20 min on stair stepper or elliptical

TUESDAY- back/core (4-5 sets of 8-10 reps) then 20-30 min of cardio

WEDNESDAY- legs (5-6 sets of 6-8 reps) no cardio

THURSDAY- arms ( 6-8 sets) 20-30 min cardio

FRIDAY- shoulders, traps and core + whatever else I may have missed...no cardio

SATURDAY and SUNDAY- mainly cardio plus possibly some odd ball workouts that I might have just learned..o ya and core but usually I'm out doing some sort of outdoor thing thats WAY more strenuous

It's still the "off season" for kayak fishing for me, but I hit a milestone today on my conditioning regime.  I notched my 50th ski outing on the season -- this one was 6.3 miles, classical style on groomed trails, at a 4.7 mph pace.  And if that wasn't satisfying enough, there was the added enjoyment of sighting two moose, one mature bald eagle, a dozen ravens playing on the thermals above Pt. Woronzof, and a clear view of Denali the entire way.

I knew I wasn't the only one who believed that exercising outdoors was best.  http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/02/21/the-benefits-of-exercising-outdoors/

AK--I envy you your time on the ski trails. I lived in the Cariboo for 2 winters and skied every night after work with a miner's light--no better cardio than x country skiing and the stress relief on those quiet back country trails can't be beat either.

A little update on my progress...
It has been about a month now that I have been on this diet/exercise plan.
I have lost 18 pounds.
Honestly I haven't really been able to do the cardio but have stuck to the circuit.
It's amazing what cutting carbs can do for the body. I don't really feel hungry and I don't feel the need to stuff my face full of junk. My goal is to not be a fat ass by the time I turn 30. So far it looks like I'm off to a good start.
248 to 230 in a month didn't seem possible. I realize it will get harder to cut weight as I move along but losing weight is a winning game one pound at a time.
Stoked to see what another month will look like!

That's impressive. The cardio will come. Feeling fit is itself addicting, especially if you've experienced the opposite for a bit. Good show.

I meant to say I don't have time for the cardio because we have a new baby at home. I don't have free time until my girlfriend gets off work and by that time I'm ready to eat dinner and spend time with them. I guess I could figure something out haha.
As for the circuit I do...it was only a ten minute circuit for the first two weeks. I am now doing the circuit for 30-35 minutes. So I'm sure there is an aerobic benefit to that. If only I had the daylight to sneak away and take the kayak out every day. I can't wait for summer time!

I need to get my Outback out of the living room so that I can set the Total Gym back up.

I think it's hilarious that your boat is in the living room. I live in a tiny apartment and my Outback lives on the roof of my Blazer. I would keep it in the hallway of the building if I didn't live upstairs.

I've been doing work on it (for over a month now).  It's usually sleeps in the garage.

Justin installed new fish finder and am working on a downrigger.  Need to check the glue on the transducer foam thingy.  Then it's off to the water on Friday.

Time to give my legs a workout.

My Yak used to live above my tv, suspended by two ikea shelves.

I gave in to the easy way on fitness.  Wife and I see a personal trainer once a week now.  It's nice to have structured workouts and someone else doing the thinking for you after a long day at work.

I hope you are storing it "upside down" on top of your Blazer because Hobie hulls can warp pretty easily especially in the heat on J-racks DAMHIK.
