So now that I've got the new Outback, I want to get it set up with all of accessories that I probably don't need.  I don't have a lot of "play money" left over after my ORC trip so keep that in mind.  If you all could help me out with suggestions, that would be great.

I'd love to see some photos of how you have yours done. Pros and cons are great too.

How to mount my fish finder?  I'm thinking out of the hole for the sail kit.
Where/How to put a rod holder for trolling.  I like how some of you have the rod parallel to the water in front of you.
How to mount anchor cleats?  I'll be putting 2 of them on (front and back anchoring).

I'm sure more questions will follow.  thanks in advance.

The RAM wedge ball works perfectly in the sail mast hole. That's where/how I mounted mine in the revo, and a few other members I know of too. Just make sure when you use it, to rotate it far enough towards the bow that your not kicking your FF with every stroke.

FF-That's probably a good place unless yours has GPS, which if it does you might want to put it within arms reach.
-For rod holder I use one of these. It lets you get the angle just right and keeps it out of the way enough so you can turn side saddle.

Ends up looking like this. I also mounted my FF to it.

-You might consider a zipzag cleat, you can tie off on it from either direction. You can also tie off multiple lines, like for a buddies kayak as well. Now that you have two :) I always just use screws and goop to secure them to the kayak. Probably small stainless steel bolts would be better but I haven't had any issues yet.

Is it easier to do a flush mount or a top mount like you have for your rod holder?

Also, would I be wasting money on a hatch liner for the front?  Seems like it might be nice to not have gear sliding around, but I'd lose some storage space.

The top mount you can install in about 5 minutes. Just drive the screws through the plastic. Plus it doesn't require a large hole, I like the idea that I can move it somewhere else later if I decide I want it in a different location. I might put a flush mount in if I was 100% sure I wanted to keep it there.

You might want to hold off on the liner for now and just fish with it as is. What do you picture storing up there?

I'd bungee the battery to the sailing post and then just stick your other gear in a dry bag inside the hatch. If you also clip it to the sailing mast it won't move around. That should leave you room for a rod or two for your surf launches and landings :)

So far, I found that I don't use my rod holder when trolling. I use it more for holding my rod when I'm dealing with a fish or my rig. When trolling, I hold on to my rod. You got a Hobie now, Justin - you can hold on to your rod with your hands  I agree with putting the FF up front in the mast hole - it's close enough to reach, and you have a good view of it there.

I already said coffee grinder......   >:D

So far I've got the following ready to order.

Gearhead/extender  ......  maybe I should go trolling before getting this?
T-Handle (paddle)
Leash (mirage drive)
ZigZag Cleat
RAM Wedge mount (fishfinder)

What else before I hit Order?

Maybe if I got the gearhead, I could still use it as a mount for my gopro facing towards me......

You might want to add,
-SS fasteners
-Emergency hand pump (if you don't already have one)
-Goop
-Scotty clips, I find I use these all the time, you can just make your own leashes.

I have been using Yak Attach gear tracks to mount things to my revo.  They are expensive but it gives you the freedom to move your fish finder and rod holders to fit the style of fishing you are doing that day.  Also they are fairly flush so it keeps everything looking clean when you take things off.

I "over rigged" my outback....and now I'm kinda mad at myself.  On my next one.... yes next one.  I'll be putting the ram wedge mount for my FF ( the one for the sail mast hole) and two round scotty flush mounts in the rod holders in front.  Take my fancy milk crate and put it in the back....go to go.  Simple is always better.
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

I don't know what a SS fastener is.....

I forgot about the Yak Attack gear tracks.

I did a google search for them and NWKA showed up as #1 .    lol

As for making my own leash.... I think that's why I lost my game clip this weekend...

After the fog problem, maybe one of these too.
