Oops, Post fail... That's what happens when you just pick up your iPhone after starting tapatalk. Anyway, nice work you guys. I still want to rig mine so it's upside down and ready to lower onto my car or truck. Got some good ideas here. 😊

I forgot to mention, there is a lift kit available for the suzuki sx4, and if your mechanical, can be installed in a weekend with minimal effort.  i call it a poor mans suburu- no timing belt in the engine (its a chain), 4 doors, the back seats fold flat, and they dont hold their value like the suburu, so you can pick up a used one reasonably priced- the awd has a "lock" function turning it into a virtual 4wd (technical people please dont beat me up about this).  People don't think about them because they dont have the advertising support some of the larger car companies have.  they are good cars

That's a nice look buck, Bill! I've got 56" bars now and they work perfect for a Revo plus outback combo.

For my 99 Isuzu Trooper and Mike Allen's Toyota 4 Runner (2000), we use Yakima bars about approx 75 inches long to carry two Outbacks. We also have both have the extendable bars that slide in and out of the rear rack bars, so we can load  the Outbacks by ourselves. In fact, often it's easier to load both boats single-handedly, than having an old guy on each end trying to lift it in an afternoon wind. If we trailer our boats, we have to limit our speed to to 55 mph in our state. If we rack them we can go 70 mph, with about a 15-25% gas mileage penalty .

Lee, that looks like it will work great.

I hope it's an extended cab so you have someplace to store your gear. :)

It's a double cab, but look closer.  The revos will actually be above the rails of the bed and my daughters' yaks are only 9ft long, so there is still a lot of room in the bed for 3+ plastic totes.

Hey my 2 cents worth. We use a Honda Element, the second ugliest car out there, to haul a Revo 11 and a Revo 13. We had to get longer cross bar for rack and it worked fine. I run cam lock straps thru scuppers, tie off front and back and then I also run 2 ratchet straps thru the cab. VERY solid. I keep a pad between the yaks to avoid rubbing.  Plenty of room to haul all our camping and fishing stuff. When we get to lake we sleep in back of Element. Im 6'1 and I can close it up with seats forward and sleep comfortably. Rubber type floors make clean up user friendly.

What kind of mpg so you get from the element? I thought about those too.

No padding for the cross bars?

Not so much padding, as anti slip.
