Lets hear them. In no particular order here are mine:

1-Explore some new off the beat and path fishing spots.
2-Catch more than one salmon I can eat
3-Get some HOW vets some fish.
4-Pay forward the NWKA good will and show five newbies some new water.
5-Get my dad on the salt for the first time.
6-Catch a Halibut

Great thread idea Noah.

1) place in the top ten for AOTY
2) learn to fish for at least one specie I've never fished for
3) catch at least one king, one coho, and 6 pinks from my kayak.
4) actually put some stickers on my kayak
5) fish for halibut out of PC

Yup. That'll do. :)

Here's a couple.....

- Help get as many newbies into big fish as possible.
- Grow my guide business Kayak Fishing Oregon.
- Catch more fish from a kayak using fly rods
- Shoot lots of ducks from my kayak.
- Tie my own saltwater flies.
- Attend more seminars(kayak and non kayak).
- Fully know and understand all fishing regs on all water.
- Enjoy a few cold beers with Fungunnin and apologize for my comments. Possibly my biggest mistake in 2012.

Looking forward to a great 2013.

Happy Holidays!

  • Get my kids out on the water more, worry less about catching fish myself.
  • Care less about going after AOTY species only and go catch a nice hawg of a catfish on the John Day. Also, go after other choice species (Browns, Northerns and Muskie) I have passed up due to no AOTY points (unless of course if they will be AOTY fish in 2013).
  • shoot more ducks and geese
  • catch a steelhead with or without a kayak.
  • get a Washington license and catch a pink salmon or 20, and do the same with chums

Mine are:
-catch a halibut from the yak
-explore more spots to fish both here on VI and maybe get down and fish one of your WA get togethers.
-provide some help for NWKA members coming to the island (to pay back some of the help and advice I've gotten on here)
-improve my sailing/kayaking skills on my AI.
Here's to 2013!

Anytime!
The great part about being a guy is the ability to get pissed off ... drop a few F bombs, point a few fingers, kick and stomp a bit. Then go out have a few beers and put it all behind you.

We are on this site because we love kayak fishing and while it is easy to get caught up in the little things we all need to keep focus of the important things.... tight lines, big fish and good friends.

A liberal douse of beer helps things too!

Jammer, you're buying the first round, but I'd be happy to share a beer and swap fishing stories. Hell, come up to Foggy Bay and I'll get show you a honey hole or two. :D

Get HOW Portland staffed up for the Portland Boat Show booth (I need YOUR help!) and have at least ten outings with vets.

Get my three grandsons on fish from a yak.

Catch a halibut, coho, steelhead and a chinook from a yak.
