- Is the weigh-in at the dock in Depoe Bay or at Chinook Bend? It's a significant question since it looks like CB is 45 minutes from Depoe Bay, and obviously people don't want to miss the check-in.

Weigh-in will be at the launch in Depoe Bay.  I updated the original post.  Thanks for asking this!

- For people not staying at CB, can we hose off our yaks there after the tourney before we head back to where we're staying?

Yes, there are spigots at many of the campsites and you shouldn't have a problem with finding someone to let you use one.  If I have one at my site you can use it.

- What are the times/locations for the various meetings, such as the Captain's Meeting, and the Coast Guard safety check?

We'll do an evening meeting on Friday.  I imagine it will start sometime between 6pm and 8pm.  You'll need to show up and ask people like myself or call someone who you know at the campground.

- Is there a check-in on the morning-of, and if so where is it?

Check-in stuff is best handled the evening before at the campground, but there should be someone there in the morning accepting registrations and waivers for people showing up that morning.  Details on this one are fuzzy at this point.

NOTE: DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAP'S DIRECTIONS TO CHINOOK BEND CAMPGROUND!!!

If you use Google Maps and you search for Chinook Bend campground it will not take you to the correct place. This is what led me to believe that it was 45 minutes between Depoe Bay and the campground.

Yes, good call.  This is the actual address from Google Maps: 2890 Siletz Hwy Lincoln City, OR 97367

I don't want to muddy the waters, but when I punch "2920 Siletz Hwy Lincoln City, OR 97367" into Google Maps, I get sent way down Hwy 229 past where I understand the campground is. (A couple of us including guys who'd been before just had a FB discussion about this.)

Going down Silitz Hwy and stopping at the place that says "Chinook Bend" seems to work really well.  It worked for me the last couple years, so I'm hoping that method is still sound.

I'm just trying to help out other people that may be coming in and are trusting the online maps.

Yeah, I think the problem is that they have their address listed incorrectly on their website. I originally had 28##, but then switched it to what it showed on their website without double checking it. They have 2920 when it's actually closer to 2820. I fixed it in my post and I'll put the correct address in the original post.  It is pretty obvious though.  Like Lee said, just drive down that road until you see the sign and a big red barn.

Just one more attempt for clarity and then I'll let it go: I wasn't worried about finding the place. I'm not a complete dolt; I just fish like one.

I am not staying at CB so I was doing some planning for the trip, and being 15 minutes from Depoe Bay (reality) is very different than being 45 minutes from Depoe Bay (what Google Maps says). That was the point.

I knock on wood as I post this: http://magicseaweed.com/Lincoln-City-Surf-Report/316/

7 feet at 9 seconds.  Hopefully, July 12 will be much better that the Father's Day weekend option which was considered.  It was a close vote.

   Whew.............

   Good call I'd say.

   A month to go..........

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
